Another month flies by! Here are my favorite posts from April!
My sister’s baby shower was a huge success! It was a beautiful day, tons of family and friends were in attendance, and the mommy-to-be had a wonderful time. We couldn’t have asked for a better day! I can’t wait for baby Matthew to be here! Less than 2 months to go
What To Do In Ireland {Parts 1, 2 & 3}
Here’s the final post from our Ireland adventures! In case you missed the first two, here they are: What To Do In Ireland {Part 1} What To Do In Ireland {Part 2} DINGLE Stay The Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast. If you visit Dingle, definitely stay here!
My Colonoscopy Results & Why I Love My Doctor
Good morning! Happy Hump Day! I hope your day is off to a great start! Murphy literally RAN back to bed after he ate his breakfast this morning. Apparently, he’s not a fan of Wednesdays. Breakfast This morning’s breakfast was an oldie, but goodie: Van’s waffles with Teddie peanut butter and banana slices.
Yesterday afternoon, Murphy and I had a very special visit to make at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As you probably know, the MIT community has been through quite a lot lately, so when I received a request from Dog B.O.N.E.S. about visiting the campus, Murphy and I immediately jumped at the chance.
Two of my favorite “activities” in life are CrossFit and drinking. Haha! Hey, I work hard and play hard! I especially love doing these things together as seen here, here, and here. So when Smirnoff reached out to me about hosting a “Ladies’ Night (Work) Out,” which would include a workout followed by a sampling.
Recap of 13.5 and Some Thoughts About the Open
Phew. I’m glad the 2013 CrossFit Open is officially over. It was a ton of fun, and I really enjoyed myself, but I’m ready to get back to my regular workouts. I feel like I haven’t been to a CrossFit class in ages! Last Friday afternoon, Kerrie and I made plans to do 13.5 together.
How My Body Changed Since Starting CrossFit
I survived my colonoscopy with flying colors! Hooray! Seriously, it was a piece of cake. The prep and (especially) not eating were definitely the hardest parts. The actual procedure was over and done with before I knew it. Piece of cake.
Secret Ingredient Heath Bar Cookies
I made these cookies last night and, holy yum, I can’t stop thinking about them. Ok, maybe it’s because I haven’t eaten anything today and all I can think about is food, but these cookies are definitely something special. Secret ingredient? Ooh, yes. It definitely adds a little something-something to the recipe.
“Safe” Goals Versus “Reach” Goals {Recap of 13.4}
Woohoo! I met my goal and survived Open WOD 13.4! As I mentioned in my previous post, 95 pounds (the prescribed weight for this workout) for clean and jerk was pretty close to my 1RM, so my goal for 13.4 was to make it through the set of 12 clean and jerks and toes-to-bar.
Run for Charlotte and CrossFit Doggie Date
On Sunday morning, I participated in the Run for Charlotte, a 5K and 10K road race in honor of 5-year-old Charlotte Rose Kelly, who lost her battle with neuroblastoma in December 2011. From the Prayers from Charlotte website: Neuroblastoma is an aggressive form of cancer associated with the nerve cells and adrenal glands.
A Piece Of Clothing I Just Can’t Part With
Good morning, friends! I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. I have no idea why because I stayed up later than usual last night watching American Idol (how amazing are the ladies!?), but I just went with it and got a ton accomplished early this morning.
Gluten-Free Almond Joy Cookies
It took me three tries to get this recipe right, but third time’s a charm, right? These cookies turned out wonderfully! These Gluten-Free Almond Joy Cookies are soft and sweet with flavors of coconut, almond, and chocolate throughout. They are definitely holy yum! If you love almond joy-flavored treats, you will love these cookies!
5 Things I Recently Bought and Really Love
Good morning! Happy Friday! I recently bought a few things that I really love, so I thought telling you guys about them might make a fun blog post. Hey, I figured if I’m totally obsessed with these things, you might love them, too!

April went so fast! Thank you for doing these monthly posts Tina! I had totally missed your recap of the Open Post!
What a busy, fun-filled month! These posts are great to reflect on the highlights. Lots to be thankful for 🙂
Definitely! 🙂
I bought a dress during my study abroad trip to Italy, and I’ve only wore it a hand full of times since then (2008) but I can’t part with it. I just reminds me of a great weekend every time I see it. I thought about making it into something else.
When are you announcing your giveaway winners?
I already did! Check Monday’s post! 🙂
I also really liked your “Safe v. Reach goal” post, as well as how your body has changed with Crossfit. April was a fun-filled month!
I still want to buy that shellac nail kit you featured on the things you bought post but I have been so naughty lately with my spending I need to reign it in but seeing this post reminded me and now I want it now! 😉
Wow April flew by! Time needs to slow down!
I can’t believe April is over already! I still feel like it’s January. Unbelievable. I thought I had kept up pretty well with your posts this month and enjoyed them thoroughly but apparently I missed a few. I will def. have to go back through and hit a few of them up.
You had an awesome month! Recapping your month really shows how much you get out and do different things. I’m going to try and take part in more things this spring and summer including my first organized race in a longgg time.
