Wow. What a weekend. I’m totally exhausted, but in a good way. I worked hard and now I can finally sit back and relax””sort of like what Murphy did all weekend.
Ok, that’s a total lie. In typical (nosy) pug fashion, he’s been up in our ish since we started working on Friday afternoon. It was kind of annoying””I must have stepped on him a dozen times””but I have to admit, it was nice to have my favorite furry friend nearby any time I needed a break (and a pug hug). Painting is a like a marathon; encouragement is frequently needed.
Anyway, here are some scenes from our home improvement weekend!
Progress”¦
Nosy pug.
Mal and I learned that olive oil works wonders on brushed nickel. It cleans it right up!
I ate crappy food all weekend (we ordered take-out twice) and feel similarly today.
But at least we ate Olympic Pizza while watching the Olympics last night. Did anyone catch the women’s weightlifting? Holy crap is all.
Somehow, in the midst of the home improvement madness, I managed to bake a batch of (Paleo) Coconut Almond Cookies, and they were frickin’ delicious. I ate a bunch of them with my iced coffee for breakfast this morning.
Tonight for dinner, I got myself back on track with this healthy dish.
So, the kitchen is finished.
And the bathroom is almost done.
A couple of minutes ago, Mal told me that he and Rob “broke the tub,” so they just left to go to Lowe’s. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on, but they sounded like they had things under control. Oh, the adventures never end with home improvement projects!
How was your weekend? Please tell me it was more exciting than my painting marathon!
