The other night, a few girlfriends and I got together for a casual, impromptu birthday celebration. It was our friend’s birthday, so, of course, we needed to celebrate! 😀
I didn’t have much time to prepare for the get-together, but we all know that birthday celebrations require cake! So, I got busy in the kitchen and baked some Halloween Funfetti cupcakes for the occasion.
Halloween sprinkles!
The cupcakes turned out wonderfully and everyone loved them!
But, seriously, what’s not to love about a cupcake? Moist cake, creamy frosting, and easy to enjoy– no utensils needed!
I kept the appetizers simple by serving a store-bought artichoke + olive dip with crackers that my guests could dip and munch as they pleased.
My sister offered to bring her signature stuffed mushroom dish— and, I didn’t turn her down! They were awesome!
And, of course, we had plenty of wine! 😉
Because it was a spontaneous gathering, I kept Girls’ Night low-key by serving finger foods with small plates and folded paper towels.
The ladies appreciated the laid-back set-up and atmosphere, and everyone seemed very relaxed while we caught-up, chatted, and celebrated Becca’s birthday.
Happy birthday, Becca! 😀
Yay for Girls’ Night!
I had a wonderful time– mostly because I didn’t obsess about any of the last-minute details!
Do you have any entertaining shortcuts for impromptu get-togethers?
