I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.


An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

What a nice day for a ride in the car to the park! The weather was pretty chilly, but bright and sunny at the same time. Murphy and I spent a little over an hour walking and exploring the park this morning.

Walking around the dog park totally counts as my WOD, right? I think so.


Before we left for the park, I snacked on leftover Apple Omelet with a scoop of sunflower butter. (Apparently, Apple Omelets just don’t photograph well. Sorry!)

Lunch was eaten in two parts today. Part one was leftover Mac & Cheese Lite with black beans and a clementine on the side. Sadly, there were no veggies in this part of lunch.

Mal and I ate all of the vegetables that I bought this week, except for a couple of carrots, so I threw them in a very berry smoothie.

Very Berry Smoothie

  • 2 carrots, broken into pieces
  • 3/4 cup frozen berries
  • 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1.25 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
  • Cinnamon to taste

Makes 1 smoothie

  1. Living in North Dakota (and in the 2nd coldest city in the US!!), you can never have enough jackets. I would pick up one of their beautiful down parkas!

  2. I would buy mittens….I always seem to lose mine, but they have some great patterns so maybe that will make me a little more motivated to hold onto them? I would buy a warm hat and scarf too!

  3. Cashmere sweaters have always been something I’d love to wear but won’t spend the money on.. they look so warm and cozy!

  4. I’ve never shopped there (I never really knew they had trendier clothing and there are no locations close to me), so I’d love to try it out! I’d probably try out a sweater or long-sleeved shirts for winter. Thanks!
