Hey, hey! Happy Sunday to you!
Quinn is taking a nap and Mal is out running errands, so I thought I’d pop in and share some fun stuff from our weekend so far. Ok, here we go, in no particular order, the best of our weekend!
DATE NIGHT WITH MY FAVORITE GUYS. By Friday, we didn’t have muchย food in our house, so we decided to go out to dinner at Scarlet Oak Tavern, which was an excellent decision.
It was also a funย way to end the week, especially since Q-Man was in such a great mood. He’s usually pretty good when we take him out to dinner, but you never know what to expect with a toddler. We actually had aย dining out experienceย last weekendย when, as soon as our food was servedย to theย table, we asked to take it home. It was one of those meals. But, Quinn was awesome at Scarlet Oak. He just ate and hung out with us. He also had a blast playing hide-and-go-seek with the tablecloth!
I ordered the kale salad with goat cheese, a side of French fries, and a glass of wine for dinner. Balance, baby.
SATURDAY MORNING LONG RUN. I missed my long run last week, so I was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. I listened to Diane and Liz for the first hour and then turned on my tunes and picked up the pace for the remaining 50 minutes. It was glorious. I typically enjoyย tempo and interval runs more than long runs, but sometimes a long run is exactlyย what you need!
AFTERNOON NAP WITH MY LITTLE LOVE. The best. He’s turning into such a cuddle bug. Finally! Mama’s dreams are finally coming true!
SHOPPING WITH MY FAVORITE LITTLE PERSON. Quinn and I hit up the Derby Street Shoppes for some shopping on Saturday afternoon. (Check out my new bag, which is even more amazing in person! And check out how organized it is inside! Even Quinn was impressed.)
We popped into Crate & Barrel to buy a boot trayย and thenย headed over to Barnes & Noble for story hour and a little more shopping.
There was so much to see and TOUCH!
The toddler love for Elmo is REAL.
BIRTHDAY CAKE ICED TEA. It ordered it from David’s Tea and it was so delicious! I want to try the iced tea latte next!
TINY 7 FOR ALL MANKIND JEANS. Quinn’s first pair of designer jeans! And, ohmigod, they are adorable. I bought them from thredUP (new with tags!) for a fraction of the retail price. He’s going to be so stylish!
“BAALL!” Quinn learned a new word over the weekend! It sort of sounds like he has a southern accent when he says it!
Questions of the Day
What was the BESTย part of your weekend?
Do you have Columbus Day off?ย

He’s such a cutie! Love little man jeans, he’ll have to get new pair of super cool trainers to go with them!
Yes, about the toddler Elmo love!! What is it about him (?) that they find so appealing?? Matilda loves Elmo too!
I know!! It’s so weird!
Birthday cake iced tea :O O yes!!!
Haha, Quinn is so cute! ๐
ahhhh what a cutie. and such cute jeans, quinn!
Best part of weekend was hanging with the kids and watching lots of their soccer games. I did your running workout twice so far (the one you posted last week) and I really like it–I listened to Diane and Liz for one of them–and watched Graceland for today’s run….love the workouts–please share more:)
Lauren
Nice! So glad you like it!!
Goat cheese is my favorite among the various spreads of cheese. I always get irrationally excited when seeing it featured on a blog! I tustve missed out on a blog post. Are you training for another marathon? It’s awesome to see you embark on another long run! I enjoyed following along on your training for Boston last year.
I’m running at half marathon in a few weeks!
Ahh I am so jealous about that birthday cake tea! I am such a tea fanatic! The best I have tried is a white chocolate tea and it was so amazing!
which half are you running?
South Shore! ๐
I had the most relaxing weekend and it’s was awesome! We’re on baby watch mode over here, so we’re soaking up every last minute!
I had some much needed alone time to get a mani-pedi and hit up the gym this weekend <– so nice when you are with a kiddo 24/7 ๐ I love your new bag!
What a fun weekend!! My boyfriend lives 4 hours away so we decided to meet half way on Saturday at a cute little kids play place so we could not only see each other but I could meet his little 2 year old son. It was fun and hilarious and meeting his little one went really well. Definitely the highlight of my weekend! ๐
Aw, he is adorable! What a great weekend. I love that he is a cuddle bug… I hope my little guy loves to cuddle as he gets older!
Looks like a fun weekend!
Unfortunately we don’t get columbus day off in Europe but starting clinic at 7am is JUST as relaxing (naaat) ๐
Highlight of this weekend was discovering the pool and sauna at our local tennis courts! For about 3รขโยฌ you can swim and sauna all you want and it was so fun and relaxing after a good match! Nothing better than a change of pace.
I’m such a huge fan of the “delicious salad + French fries” order at restaurants. Best of both worlds!
Best part of my weekend: Spending Saturday afternoon baking fall treats ๐
Looks like a fun weekend! My son has recently started to get into cuddling and even napping on me and it makes me so happy I just can’t even!!
I haven’t seen Murphy in a post in a while. Is he okay? Miss seeing his cute little face!
He’s doing great! He’s his usual happy and hungry pug self!
Awesome! So glad to hear that!
Is it horrible that I hope my 14 mo old doesn’t develop a love for Elmo because I don’t like Elmo? LOL!
Your post made me feel optimistic today. Just had my baby boy Oct 6th and its hard!
Best part was running and more importantly finishing the Nantucket half-marathon with a PR on Sunday, 40% on dirt/sand roads so definitely a challenge!
My kids had Monday and Tuesday off so it was a relaxing weekend!
Love Q’s designer jeans ๐
Those jeans are SO cute! I had no idea they made Seven jeans for little guys? So cute Tina!
I’m not sure what made me think of this when reading your post, maybe the organized new bag? Anyway, have you heard of momagenda? I ordered one a couple of months ago and feel so much more organized and can chill out. Between work, stuff to remember for the kids and their school and paying daycare, my husband, my masters, household stuff, etc I had agendas and to do lists everywhere. This momagenda, I think it’s the “family” or “mom” one, has changed my life! It even has a “dinner” section at the bottom of each day. I sound like I should get some kickback, but I have no affiliation with her website or products at all. Just really love my agenda book and wanted to share with others!
