Ants On A Log

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Ever since I saw Ants on the Log on Jen’s blog the other day, I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. Celery + PB + raisins is a winning combination in my book– tasty, satisfying, and nutritious. No wonder I couldn’t stop thinking about this snack! I’m just glad that I finally made it!

What was your favorite childhood snack?

Also with lunch, I had a homemade salad with leftovers from last night’s roasted brussels sprouts + turnip. The mustard + pesto flavors soaked in overnight and gave my veggies even more flavor. Love that!

I also had a Granny Smith apple and a mini Key Lime Pie Larabar with lunch. So many shades of green!

Mal and I have a date night planned this evening. Yay! It actually involves the color green! 😉

P.S. I’m hosting a tea and cookies giveaway over on Trading Up Downtown!

  1. mmmm I miss ants on a log. I also use to eat candy necklaces and fake cigs. Yup I wasn’t the healthy kid by all means. Ohhh and ho hos!

  2. Hi Tina!

I just found your blog today! Love you food philosophy, it’s very similar to how I live. The ants on a log have me really excited for when I’m allowed to go grocery shopping Friday night! 🙂 I’m on a clearing out the freezer/fridge diet this week!

  3. I honestly can’t remember what my favorite snack was as a kid. Maybe I didn’t snack??? Nothing sticks out for me!

  4. I used to have PB on celery as a kid and loved it! I don’t remember if I have tried it with raisins or not but I am interested to give it a go now! My favourite snack as a kid was homemade granola bars that my mom made. Actually, they are still up there on the favourite snack list. They are quite delicious! 😉

  5. This is my first comment on your blog. First, I’d like to say that I’ve been reading your blog for some time now and I adore you! But, I have a question!

I’ve just started on my weight loss journey in January and have already lost 20 pounds! However, I feel like I’m eating the same foods everyday. (It’s very difficult to have a variety of food considering I’m a college student with very low funds.) I’m looking for some low calorie recipes (with minimal ingredients). Do you have any recommendations? If not, do you know of any blogs that may list the calories with the healthy meals they post? 🙂 Thanks so much! I would really appreciate it!

  6. Hello

Exactly what I was looking for – needed a new idea for this Christmas as it will be differnt for us. Thanks for sharing, am bookmarking so I can find it and practice before the “big week”.
