Garlic Mustard Drumsticks

February 5, 2013

YUM!

Last night’s dinner was so EASY and DELICIOUS, it deserves its own post. It was as simple as brushing on a garlic and mustard mixture and putting the chicken in the oven, and it turned out so well!

Garlic Mustard Drumsticks

Ingredients:

  • 10 chicken drumsticks (approximately 3 pounds)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Place chicken on a baking tray.

Melt butter (I used the microwave) in a small bowl and then add mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Brush mixture onto chicken.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until chicken is cooked all the way through.

I have acid reflux and I haven’t eaten mustard in YEARS (i used to drink mustard!) That being said, I am willing to give myself some heartburn for this.

How do you think this would taste with boneless skinless breasts? And same cooking time/temperature? We are a white meat family, but this looks so good!

Do you think that this marinade could be used with tofu? It sounds so good, but I do not eat meat! I might have to give it a try.

Tina – how do you think the mustard/garlic combo would work spread on chicken breasts as opposed to the drumsticks? Looks great – I’m just not a drumstick eater.

@Danielle: I think it’d be great! :)

Can you recommend a mustard ? I only use yellow mustard and grey poupon mustard so I have no idea when it comes to grainy mustards but this sounds really good!!

Reply

Tina February 6, 2013 at 7:10 pm

I think any grainy mustard would work. I bought a brand called Bookbinders.
