This morning, I woke up smiling thinking about all of the fun I had yesterday. Seriously, why don’t I just live in Vermont?!?
After breakfast, Mal, Marie, Dave, and I drove into downtown Burlington. We walked around Church Street, did a little shopping, and then hit the farmers’ market.

At the farmers’ market, everything looked so fresh and delicious. I pretty much wanted to buy one of everything, including this Buddha pug bag. I was so close to buying it, but the last thing I need is another bag!

After the farmers’ market, we visited some of our friends at their new townhouse. Murphy had a blast playing with their French bulldogs, Sophie and Hannah. I think Sophie had a little crush on Murph!

A few hours later, we headed home to grab a quick lunch. I had a ham and cheddar wrap with spicy mustard.

And a chocolate chip cookie!

Then, we headed back into Burlington for the evening. Our first stop was Breakwater! Love this place!

At Breakwater, Marie and I split a Maple Mudslide.

Holy yum!

We spent a couple of hours at Breakwater and then walked over to the Vermont Brewers Festival, which was the main event of the weekend for us.

There were so many amazing beers to try. Quite a few of them I had never even heard of.

The event was packed!!

BBFs!

After sampling quite a lot of beer, Marie and I got the munchies, so we shared a bag of kettle corn at the festival. Kettle corn is really delicious! Why don’t I eat it more often!?

The final stop of the evening was Metronome for 80′s Night. Yep, we totally acted like we were in college last night!

Dance party!!!

We never really ate dinner, so we stopped by the Kountry Kart Deli for a “Rise and Shiner” after 80′s Night. The “Rise and Shiner” is a bacon, egg, cheese, and hash brown sandwich on a sub roll. Obviously, it was a very nutritious dinner.

What a day! It was rather indulgent, but totally worth it.
I love Vermont!

That totally looks like a college night out!! the day starts out nice and relaxing but gets wilder and wilder..and then ends with a sandwich involving something fried.
What an awesome day/night!
Everyone you know seems to have the best looking dogs – I’m so envious!!
Sounds like a blast. Glad you had fun! I miss New England.
You didn’t get the bag!?! I know I have 5000 bags but it was so cute

Great photos,everyone having fun!
That looks like SO much fun! I would never stop smiling if I was there
As a native Vermonter, you hit some good spots! I definitely enjoyed my fair share of 80s nights at Metronome! Next time you’ll have to grab some gravy fries from Nectar’s down stairs!
Looks like a fabulous time! Sometimes we gotta pretend we are in college!
This makes me so nostalgic for college. I don’t think Breakwaters was there when I was there, but Metronome and Kountry Kart Deli definitely were.
I’m feeling the Vermont love too…headed up to Burlington on Tuesday, and I definitely want to check out some of the places you mentioned.
My favorite part of Vermont so far – driving for great distances through hills and mountains with nary a light shining from them, then finding myself in some amazingly cool small town. A good balance between nature and people, methinks.
Your post makes me miss New England too! Vermont is such a beautiful place, and it looks like you had a blast with some wonderful people. Way to live it up!
Are you doing The Robot or The Running Man in that shot? Because either way, you can’t lose.
I LOVE your peacock feather shirt…where did you get it?!
Come live in Vermont! It is wonderful here, and I always sort of feel like I’m on vacation!
Looks like you guys are having a great time! I’m so jealous! The maple mudslide could possibly be in my future.
Looks like such a fun day! The weather looked perfect, too.
So much fun!
Can’t wait to go on my own lil’ vacay and live it up
Looks like a super fun day!! I LOVE kettle corn.
I love how you give such great ideas for me for vacations. And kettle corn ROCKS! Way better than butter
A maple mudslide sounds so stinking good! I keep meaning to buy pure maple syrup but it always seems so expensive. One day I’ll have to just suck it up and grab a bottle!
I think you really need that Pug Bag!!! What a fun night!
What a fun day!! And a maple mudslide? For real?!
Love the pug bag!!! You should totally get it!
Looks like you had an amazing time! Kettle corn is really easy to make at home, and it tastes just as good! Heat the 1/4 c. vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, stir in 1/4 c. sugar and 1/2c. uncooked popcorn kerns. Cover, and shake the pot constantly to keep the sugar from burning. Once the popping has slowed to once every 2 to 3 seconds, remove the pot from the heat and continue to shake for a few minutes until the popping has stopped. Pour into a large bowl, and allow to cool, stirring occasionally to break up large clumps.
Maple mudslide?! I need that!
Love that bag!! I just told my bf that in addition to getting a beagle and german shepherd in a couple years, we’re going to get a pub as well. The pics in your previous post totally sealed the deal!
@Rosey Rebecca: Haha! PUG, not pub.. but now that I think about it– maybe we will get a pub, too!
i love all these pics!! so much fun. the pug bag is adorable!
I love the rise n shiner. I’ve ate it for breakfast after a night of UVM partying – soo similar to your experience
