I totally didn’t expect to have such a late night out. My original plan was to enjoy a beer at Happy Hour, eat some dinner, and head home early to relax and start packing-up our apartment for our big move. But, my evening did not turn out that way.
My unexpected evening out began at Charlie’s Kitchen in Harvard Square.

At Charlie’s, I met some friends, chatted and caught up, and enjoyed the nice weather in the outdoor patio area.

Charlie’s Kitchen is a funky, little restaurant/bar with a nice beer selection. It’s a great spot to meet for a drink or enjoy dinner with friends. It’s one of those places where you’ll pretty much find just about every kind of person hanging out.

I enjoyed an Allagash White before dinner. I also ordered a second Allagash White while eating my meal.

Apparently, I had my “drinking face” on tonight!

I loved that our beer cups were made from corn and 100% compostable! So cool!

My dates: Stephanie and Blain.

For dinner, I ordered a Veggie Wrap with French fries on the side.

The wrap was pretty good, but it didn’t knock my socks off.

After dinner, we headed to Grafton Street to hang out with my friend, Jen.

Grafton Street was surprisingly busy tonight!

We hung out at Grafton Street for about an hour– reminiscing and chatting away.

I should have ordered water, but instead I ordered a glass of Chardonnay.
It’s a Wednesday night– what was I thinking?!? Oh well.

I was pretty buzzed (and exhausted) at this point in the evening, so I only drank about half of my glass of wine and called it a night.

I had a really FUN night with good friends, but I can’t hang like I used to! I’m so happy to be at home in my PJ’s and just steps away from my bed.
Good night!

Unexpected night like that are needed sometimes! Good luck packing, I’m moving too, so I know how stressful it can be!
awww charlies looks like such a cute place! lovin it!
I love places like that, there are so many of them in Philly, and I really like that blue shirt you have on also! I think I saw a similar one at Banana Republic..?
I like when food bloggers have a few drinks and some fries
Cute shirt:)
sleep well!!!
Eh, I guess a little spontaneity can’t hurt every now and again; although, I’m quite the planner myself. Too bad the wrap was mediocre… looks like you had a good time anyway
awww that looks like such a cute and fun night!
Sounds and looks like a great improv evening out with friends. Sometimes those are better than any big plans.
I’m the same way though with not being enticied with late night booze fests. PJ’s, DVR, and slippers are my top chocies on a Friday night anymore. Oh my, how we change with age..;)
Aww, it sounds like you had so much fun though! I’m the same way. If I go out on a week night, I end up regretting it the next day, hehe.
Charlie’s Kitchen ALWAYS leads to a long night, eh? Sounds like a really fun night. Good for you for going out on a weeknight!
I love Charlie’s Kitchen. It’s outdoor patio is one of the best in Harvard Square. Glad you had such a fun night
Sometimes, those unexpected nights out are the most fun!
Charlies is great! And I get so excited when I get a cup or utensils made of corn. They look so much like plastic! Going out on a weeknight is tiring, but its so fun to break up the week.
Hey, you only live once!
Glad you had a fun Wed night out!
Love that top – super cute (and really great color on you!)
this place looks cute. I like how they pay attention to detail, ex: the seats!!!!
I feel the same way I like going out but being home in your pj’s is the best!
I have to try Charlie’s. I feel the same way about not being able to “hang” like I used to. It used to be the night wouldn’t start until 10:00 p.m. and now my goal is to be asleep by 10:00 p.m. Funny how life changes.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, sometimes you just have to break the rules
looks like such a laid back and casual place! glad you had a good time
I did that same bar crawl with Larbs + Matt!!
Boston looks so cool! I have to visit one of these days…if so I’ll let you know. Holla if you’re ever in DC! Would love to meet up.
I’ve been a lurker on your blog for awhile now and this is too funny. I know Jen! I work with her!!! Seriously – so funny.
I love your blog and thanks for all the tips about healthy eating in Boston
