Monday night, I had the opportunity to attend a special brownie tasting and spa event at the W Boston Hotel. (I know, my life is SO hard.)
Bliss spa is opening at the W in June, so we had the chance to weigh-in on which local bakery should supply brownies to the Bliss Brownie Bar at the W Boston. Oh, yes, the Bliss spa will have a brownie bar! Sounds like my type of place!
The event featured brownies from three Boston bakeries: Flour, South End Buttery, and Rosie’s Bakery.
Us bloggers got right down to business!
Unlimited brownies. I was in heaven.
Brownies! Glorious brownies!

Just to be sure, I had one more! 😉
I sampled my brownies with a glass of white wine.
After much debate, I finally cast my vote. It was a surprisingly tough decision. I mean, don’t most brownies taste delicious?!? Here’s what I thought of the contenders:
- Flour: Very chocolaty, but too gooey for me
- Rosie’s Bakery: Moist and chewy with a chocolaty hot cocoa flavor
- South End Buttery: Strong dark chocolate flavor with a firm texture
In the end, I voted for Rosie’s Bakery. I hope it wins!
At the event, I also enjoyed a wonderful hand and arm massage from one of the Bliss specialists.
Brownie samples, wine, and a spa treatment– not a bad way to spend an evening! 😉
