Well, hello! Long time, no see!
So, I had this really long post written, recapping the whole 5-day blog drama (with a few choice words about GoDaddy), but I decided to delete it. The past few days have been a roller-coaster of emotions, but, at this point, I’ve had plenty of time to get over it. Plus, now that things are fixed, what’s the point of dwelling on it?
Long story short, my webmaster (and knight in shining armor) came to the rescue. Yesterday, Blain transfered my entire blog from GoDaddy to Dreamhost. So, now CNC has a new home, and, hopefully, it’ll be smooth sailing from here!
Obviously, this experience was a nightmare, but I learned a few important lessons from it:
- Create tough passwords: The reason that this mess happened was because a hacker figured out my password– either through WordPress or through GoDaddy’s site. To be honest, my passwords were pretty easy to figure out. (They didn’t include any numbers or different case letters.) For instance, I thought ‘murphy’ made a great password– easy to remember, adorable dog– but it turns out that it’s a hacker’s dream! Someone at GoDaddy suggested making a password that you can’t simply remember; one that you need to write down. Bad password: murphy. Good password: m5U89rP3y. Got it? Good.
- If it takes 15 phone calls to get your issue resolved, take your business elsewhere: I made 15 calls and spent nearly 7 hours on the phone with GoDaddy over the past 5 days. In my opinion, this is entirely too long for a problem to go unresolved. I’ll spare you the details, but I want you to know that GoDaddy has the worst customer service of any company I have ever done business with. More than once, I felt like I was getting “punked.” It was that ridiculous.
- Have your pity party, then get over it: My blog is my baby, so when things go wrong, I freak out. I had my little pity party (full of crying, bowls of granola, and pug hugs), but then it was time to pick up, dust off, and move forward. Feeling bad for myself wasn’t getting me anywhere. I knew if I wanted my blog to succeed, I needed to get it together.
Onto the food! Finally!
Breakfast
Real Simple wasn’t kidding when they called their recipe Easy Granola! 😀
Last night, I whipped up a batch of this wholesome toss-and-bake mix. The granola took 5 minutes to prepare. Instead of shredded coconut, pumpkin/sesame seeds, and dried fruit, I threw in an entire bag of dried tropical fruit, which made the preparation even easier.
This morning, I used some of the granola to make Granola-Crunch Pancakes. (I’m not going to lie, I was pretty excited when I thought of this idea!)
Granola-Crunch Pancakes
Makes 6-8 pancakes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granola
- 6 ounces Greek yogurt
- 1 whole egg
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1/4 cup low-fat milk
- Dash of salt
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Heat non-stick pan (or griddle) over medium heat.
- Drop 1/4 cup cupfuls of batter onto the pan/griddle.
- Cook each pancake for 2-3 minutes and then flip. Cook on the other side for about 1 minute.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.
With breakfast, I also had some iced coffee with vanilla soy milk.
This morning’s flavor: Campfire S’mores. Oh, yes! It was sweet, wonderful, and more delicious than I expected. Sometimes, flavored coffees are sort of weak and watered-down, but all of Caftea’s coffees are nice and strong. This flavor is available for purchase in my shop.

Check out this week’s Feel Great Weight post: 4 Ways to Cut Calories at the Bar (but Still Be the Life of the Party!) (The past 5 days have definitely driven me to drink!)

Yoga Pose May
I apologize that Yoga Pose May has gotten off to a slow start. If you’re participating in the challenge and you’ve already posted your pose, please email me. I’ll continue to compile a list of everyone’s posts and poses here.

May 3: Warrior III
May 4: Child’s Pose
May 5: Downward Dog

I did my pose on May 2. Here’s my take on Warrior II:
Ok, get serious.
I took the best photo of Mal doing Eagle pose, but he won’t let me share it on the blog. It involved eagle noises and movement. I assure you it was funny! 😆
Question of the Day
How do you deal with frustration? Do you cry, yell, escape, freak out?
