I’m trying to get back into this week after a crazy week last week – my mom was in the hospital and it kind of threw me off. I have discovered that I like going to yoga classes much better than doing it on my own. It may be because I don’t have a good place in my house to do it or just that I like being around other people. Either way, still going well 🙂

Catherine (FOOD SNOB)

I think this yoga challenge was maybe something I never thought I could do! I expected to give up after the first week – but I’ve only skipped ONE day the entire month! I’m feeling stronger and more flexible than I did at the beginning, and I think I’ve enjoyed huge mental benefits that I haven’t quite realized. I’ve been under a LOT of stress lately, although it doesn’t seem to be affecting me as much as it could. I’m still sleeping well and not fixating on things to come . . . woo!

I’m still with you on the yoga! I still have some DVDs I am excited to bust open and try!! 😉

Rose

I have been slacking on the yoga… but I have been doing moves here and there – just not for very long, so I haven’t commented. Throughout this month I’ve definitely realized that even a quick downward dog can really help me stretch out and relax in some way.

coco

something I accomplished physically: head stand pose after one year of practicing yoga.
mental challenge: surviving the ph.d program.

Katie

For yoga, I’ve been mixing power yoga and gentle hatha. Yesterday I did power yoga, and I was burning at the end, I think it was the compbo of yoga and snowboarding!

Susan

Several yoga poses would have been impossible 1 year ago, and now I can do them! one leg side planks, using my arms to life my entire body in a seated position, one arm, one leg planks.

Day 23: 20min of Yoga Cardio + 20min of Core Yoga + 30min of Vinyasa Flow

Day 24: Sadie Nardini’s 70min Yoga Cardio

Mari

Yoga challenge is still going strong on my end =)

Kara

Yoga Day 24: My yoga class was sort of canceled today so that we could work on our group midterm projects (lame). Instead, I did 30 minutes of Hip Opening Flow #2. After not doing yoga for a few days and starting back up last night, I can REALLY see the effects that it has had on my body. I love it!!!

Amy

I think instead of my usual 20 minutes of yoga tonight i am going to do 45 minutes of Lunar Flow-ahhhhh… 🙂

On Monday, I went to a Yoga Works 1/2 class. This was my favorite class that I have taken. The instructor was a great mix of friendliness and knowledge, and his instruction did make me work. My favorite part of the class was the handstand prep; I feel so amazing when doing downward dog with my feet on the wall.

VeggieGirl

**Yoga was smashing, as always 🙂

mari

I came home after the gym and did 25 minutes of Namaste Yoga

Day 25: Challenging 70min of Sadie Nardini’s Fire Detox

Red Head, Yellow Dog

i have definitely used my yoga to avoid munching when I get home!! it’s tough some nights to resist temptation! (aka sometimes i don’t)

Kara

Day 25: I wanted to get in some yoga today, but did it at an odd time (before dinner). I decided to do 20 minutes of Gentle Hatha Flow and of course it felt great!!

Ashley

Day 25 was lovely! I did 25 minute power yoga from yogadownload and I really liked it. There were some sun salutations but they didn’t go on forever (which sometimes drives me nuts in some practices…) I felt good and strong. Yippee for yoga!

Becca

Once I got to school I totally fell off the yoga train and I miss it…my roomies both have am class though so I might try to squeeze a few minutes in tomorrow!

Ronda

Day 25: My chiropractor is not 100% certain that the yoga is a good thing for me, but I think it is helping. I am feeling stronger and my neck feels much better. My low back, however, well that is another story. The reality is it would hurt if I did the yoga or not, and it hurts less now. So I am sticking with it. (Though there are a few poses that I hold back on.)

Catherine (FOOD SNOB)

I think this has been my laziest night of yoga yet. I did “Stress Relief Yoga for Beginners” again, and I was feeling so lazy, I left my jeans and socks on. It felt like way too much work to change into yoga pants, only to change back into jeans so I could head out for choir practice shortly after I finished.

Hopefully I’ll feel more motivated tomorrow. 🙂

Today I went to a Vinyasa Flow class (my first time). There were only about 10 students, which was great because the instructor was able to walk around and adjust our bodies. Her adjustments felt amazing! How nice it would be to have someone always tweaking all of my asanas, stretching me deeper and helping me work harder. I’ve got the yoga bug for sure…

erinbee

i did core yoga today as well. i love how it burns.

HangryPants

Yoga today was great! I went to a Bikram class, which isn’t my usual practice, but I think my recent running made my muscles extra tight and needed the heat. It was amazing!

No set downloads lately, but I’ve been doing what I can. I get frustrated in my house trying to find a good place to do yoga. I think Nick and I might try the class at our gym soon! Until then, still doing the flows I know and following the pose guides – my mp3 player seems to have eaten my actual downloads, though 🙁 so no audio!

Amy

Hi Tina-i am afraid i am going to drop out of the yoga challenge. As i wrote before, i love yoga but find it is becoming another ”˜thing’ i have to do everyday without really truely ejoying it. I am just going back to doing every 2 or 3 days and savoring the experience-but overall i did enjoy the challenge-thanks 🙂

Katie

I tried Lunar Flow again….it’s just not for me. I finished it, and then started up with a Gentle Hatha. I’m not sure if it’s Jackie’s voice or the poses, but I like Hatha so much better!
