Good morning! Happy Thursday! Did anyone else wake up thinking it was Friday this morning? For some reason, yesterday felt like Thursday all day to me. Weird.
Breakfast
We had a bunch of ripe bananas in our kitchen yesterday morning, so I whipped up a batch of OMG Pancakes for Mal and me for breakfast. Like always, I topped mine with Teddie peanut butter and maple syrup. Holy yum. I also drank a glass of decaf iced coffee with almond milk with breakfast.
After breakfast, I headed to my office to get to work for the day. I did a couple of hours of blogging/writing/email before the Internet stopped working. Our service randomly goes out from time-to-time, but it usually starts back up in an hour or two. It’s annoying, but no big deal. I had some errands to do, so I decided to run them while I waited for the internet to start working again.
Snack
Before I left the house, I ate some Greek yogurt with Sweet & Salty Gluten-Free Granola mixed in. I guess my OMG Pancakes didn’t hold me over like they normally do? Or maybe I was just hungry? I dunno, I needed a snack.
During my errands, I hit up the bank, CVS, and Marshalls, where I saw these adorable letters. Obviously, I needed to take a pic.
I also stopped by Whole Foods for some groceries, which included a delicious impulse buy: organic strawberries. There was a big, colorful display at the front of the store and they just looked so good. I needed to buy some, and I am so glad that I did. These organic strawberries were so incredibly sweet, juicy, and, of course, delicious!
Does anyone else think conventionally-grown strawberries don’t taste like anything? Organic strawberries actually have flavor! Same goes with carrots. I always used to eat (conventional) baby carrots and then one day I ate an organic carrot. Mind blown.
Snack
When I got home, I made a fabulous strawberry snack. I used a grapefruit spoon to dig out the center of some strawberries and then filled them with Laughing Cow cinnamon cream cheese. OMG, delicious!!! Little bites of heaven!!
After I ate my snack, I checked on the Internet, which still wasn’t working. Grrr. I did the whole unplug the router, wait 5 minutes, plug it in again, but had no luck. I eventually called Comcast and asked them to reset the modem, which worked if I hard-wired my laptop, but the wireless still wasn’t working. I wasted enough time messing around with the Internet, so I worked on my laptop on the floor of the living room for most of the afternoon. When Mal got home, he miraculously fixed it. I have no idea what he did, but I’m glad he did it!
Question of the Day
How long could you go without the Internet?
I love the Internet and everything that goes along with it (Pinterest? Instagram? Hello), but I honestly think I could go awhile without it. When Mal and I went on our cruise last year and we couldn’t use our phones, I missed having the Internet for the first day or so, but, by the end of the cruise, I really enjoyed being able to completely unplug. Realistically, I think I could go about week before I really started to miss the Internet.
