Hi, friends!

It’s Friday and you know what that means: It’s time for another edition of What I’m Loving Lately! Ok, here we go… here’s what I’m loving lately!

2016 Summer Bucket List – It includes 100 things to do on the South Shore (and a bit beyond) this summer. It’s a really great round-up with tons of fun ideas!

Ramen Broccoli Slaw – Oh, yes! A healthier version of Ramen Noodles! Recipe coming to CNC soon! 🙂

17 Ways to Get Out of Your Coffee Rut – Awesome ideas, but I especially love 7, 8, and 17!

Lemon Avocado Hummus – Yummmm! This looks SO GOOD!

15 Ways to Avoid Blogger Burnout – Holy hell, this post spoke to me in so many ways.

Finally setting up appointments to get estimates to re-do our master closet – Finally! Our summer project most likely turned into a fall project, but it’s finally happening!

Honey Nut Cheerios – Truthfully, I never understood the obsession with Honey Nut Cheerios until recently, but now I can’t get enough of them in my life. I like them with milk and banana slices, mixed with dark chocolate as an evening treat, or covered in Vanilla Cake Batter Coconut Butter.

Spring Roll Chicken Salad – This looks so healthy and delicious!

The kindness of strangers – Ok, this is such a small thing, but it really made my day. Earlier this week, I was leaving The Coffee Shack with Quinn, got distracted, and left my iced coffee on the top on my car. As I started to drive away, two men jumped out of their truck and started waving their hands at me. At first, I was kind of freaked out, thinking I was about to hit something as I backed up, but then one of them pointed to the iced coffee on the top of my car. Ahh, yes, then I remembered. I got out of my car, grabbed my coffee, and thanked them for letting me know. One of the guys replied: “I didn’t want losing it (the iced coffee) to ruin your day.” It was so nice and definitely made me smile.

17 Pictures Of Bill Clinton Realizing That Balloons Exist – So funny!

The never-ending concealer – Guys, this is the SAME tube of concealer that I blogged about in December 2012. I know it’s gross, but this stuff just lasts forever and ever. And it’s seriously THE BEST concealer. I actually bought a new tube a few months ago, thinking I was about to run out, but this one is still kicking! FYI: I use the “light” shade.

Candied Pecan Chex Mix – I made this recipe a few times over the holidays, and it was always a big hit. I have a family reunion tomorrow, so I’m going to make a huge batch to bring with me. I mean, everyone loves Chex Mix, right!?!

CVS/pharmacy send offers to card – Any one else take advantage of CVS/pharmacy’s “send offers to card” coupons? I get them in my email inbox, but you can also download the CVS Pharmacy app to send coupons and deals right to your ExtraCare card. For instance, just the other day, I had a discount offer for 25% off a purchase that I sent right to my ExtraCare card. I ended up going to CVS a couple of days later and kind of forgetting about the coupon, but the employee ringing me up received a register prompt and asked me if I wanted to use my coupon. Sweet! I saved 25% off my entire order and it was so easy!

The Very Best Sardine Salad I keep saying that I am going to eat sardines and this salad might just be the catalyst. My plan: Make this salad for happy hour later today and eat it along side of a glass of wine! 🙂

Trader Joe’s Microwavable Mac & Cheese Qman loves this stuff and we love it because the ingredients aren’t scary and we don’t waste food since the small portions are perfect for a toddler. We used to make Quinn regular sized boxes of mac & cheese, but he’d only eat a small part of it and we’d usually end up wasting some of it, so these smaller packages are great.

Why I’m voting for Trump and you should too – This made me laugh!

Question of the Day

What’s up for the weekend? Any fun and exciting plans?

What are YOU loving lately?

  1. OK…where do I even start??!! Candied chex mix?! I do a candied nut mix (walnut and pecans) for Christmas….will so be trying this recipe! Instant craving. I love the send to card option on the CVS coupons! So so handy and works well…nothing to it. I have been loving Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch…have you tried that one? LOVE it! That hummus is speaking to me…as I am having a hummus veggie sampler plate for dinner as I read your blog. The very last entry….the best thing ever! LOL What I am loving this week…Julie from Table for Two made a mint vanilla simple syrup last week…intrigued me plus I have an herb garden so was very simple to make. I LOVE it…so much! Have been adding a bit to iced tea. Now she has made an iced coffee latte with it and I cannot wait to go to bed just so I can have one in the morning…addicted much? LOL Have a great weekend with your family…we are having a family reunion Saturday.

  2. I am so with you on the Honey Nut Cheerios. Lately that has been my husband and I’s after dinner dessert! He will add a small scoop of ice cream, and I just need some almond milk. I myself have been eating lactation energy bites (like energy bites with brewers yeast) every night since I”m breastfeeding a 4-month old =)

  3. Oh my goodness!! I nearly unfollowed you after seeing you were voting for Trump!! Phew!! Good job I took a breath and checked it out!!!

  4. Love the POY post! Speaking of disconnecting, my husband and I are taking our first long trip away since having our son two years ago. I’m deleting my email app and plan to enjoy the peace and quiet.

  5. I like how Trader Joe’s has picked up on microwaveable mac & cheese – reminds me of Easy Mac back in college, but probably a lot less, um, scary.

It’s my 28th birthday on Saturday, so this weekend should be a fun one. Pending my husband feeling better, we are going out for much-raved-about burgers, and on Sunday my parents are visiting so we can hit the beach and get lobster rolls. It’ll also involve a bunch of organizing because we just moved in all new furniture.

Want to make the spring roll salad and lemon avocado hummus!

  6. Keep me posted on the sardine salad! I try sardines every 6 months or so, hoping my taste buds change but I just can’t do it – just too fishy for me. We have a busy weekend! Birthday party Saturday morning, BBQ that afternoon. And Davis Farmland on Sunday – super excited but I’m tired just thinking about it, haha.

Right now I’m loving Lara Bites! They are actually on sale right now at Target for $5 a bag. I’ve loved both the double chocolate and the coconut macaroon. I keep them in the fridge and will have a couple when ever I need to fight the sugar dragon. Highly recommend them, even my 21 month old loves them!

  7. We designed our own closet on closetmaid.com and loved it. We used the DIY online tool and they shipped the pieces within a week. it took us around 4-5 hours to assemble it, but it was worth it, and like 1/4th of the price we were quoted to have someone do it! They will design one specifically for you for like 5 bucks too. Our closet is a good size too. Would totally recommend!

  8. I was driving into the parking lot at Starbucks the other day and a lady was driving out with her drink on top of her car. I tried waving and frantically was rolling down the window, but it wasn’t getting her attention so I honked. She was also freaked out (she thought I was telling her to move out of my way!) but I quickly moved forward and told her she forgot her drink! She was grateful and I apologized for scaring her. I would hope that someone does the same for me when I inevitably do this some day!

  9. Okay, I have never had sardines and was not excited about them, but I tried Kath’s salad and it’s SOOOOO good! Like tuna salad but better. I highly recommend it with some Triscuits, celery, carrots, or something similar. Hope you love it! Happy Friday 🙂

  10. Bill loving balloons made me laugh until I had tears in my eyes. Awkward because I work in an open-air office.

Also, sardines: Scary at first to flake up the whole fish with a fork, but once you do it once or twice you won’t even notice, and they are so good + good for you! (Kath taught me well haha.)

  11. Just a hint with the sardines, from a long time sardine lover…. The brand MATTERS. You might try one kind and think you don’t like sardines when it might just be the brand. Wild Planet sardines in olive oil are just the best!

  12. Personally I find the “send to card” thing super annoying. Just put it on my card, CVS. Don’t make me take the extra step of clicking on the email in my inbox, and then clicking “send to card.” It’s quite lame. Just send me an email saying “you have 25% off your next order!” So much is in the simplicity factor.
