As you know, I’m really into The Bachelorette this season. Last night, while watching the newest episode, I realized that my husband looks a quite a bit like Kirk, one the bachelors on the show. Mal found it pretty amusing and acknowledged some of the similarities. He even started to call Kirk “Lam” (Mal spelled backwards)!

After receiving a few comments on CNC about Mal’s celebrity doppleganger, I knew that I needed to write a blog post about it. It was just too funny not to! No wonder I like The Bachelorette so much this season! 😉

Breakfast

For breakfast this morning, I made Chia Seed French Toast using the Chia Seed Quick Bread that I baked yesterday. I sliced up the loaf and let it marinate overnight in a mixture of egg, vanilla soymilk, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In the morning, I cooked the pieces on the stovetop in a skillet.

The bread was so thick and dense, it never really cooked through. The outside tasted great, but the inside wasn’t quite done. I might try baking the slices in the oven next time.

I also had some Stonyfield yogurt on the side and I’m rocking S’mores iced coffee with vanilla soymilk this morning. It’s a-mazing.

  1. He does look like him! I was always told I look like Leeza Gibbons?!
Was it the season finale of the Bachelorette? No, maybe that’s next week? I was watching those Crazy N.J. Real Housewives….I’m addicted.

  2. Oh, I love this game! My friend Mike also looks like Kirk! Love the “Lam” nickname!

My best friend’s girlfriend doesn’t even know my real name (so he claims…), she just calls me Kristen Bell. lol…have I mentioned she’s my favorite one of all his girlfriends so far? 😉 hahaha

  3. That’s so funny! I can definitely see the similarities. Too bad you won’t be able to watch him much anymore since he’s gone now.

I’ve been told I look like Jaime Pressley many times.

  4. A waiter told me I looked like Alyssa Milano once, but I think he was just fishing for a good tip (which I always give anyway). When I was 13 I was told quite a bit that I looked like Winnie from the Wonder Years. A woman even stopped me at the beach to tell me she thought that I was her all week until she got up close to me in the elevator. I had the straight dark brown hair and bangs cut straight across just like her.

  5. Hahaha that is too funny! Mal has a bigger nose though 😉 I haven’t been told I look like anyone… 😛 I guess I’m just your typical Asian 😉

  6. that is so funny! he does have quite the look-a-like there!

i get someone quite often, but i do not see it. i’ll let you look and see…=0)

your french toast/pancakes always look so good, and inspire me to make the same. Mine, however, never turn out quite as tasty as yours look though!

  7. This sounds stalkerish – but I’ve been reading your blog for so long, and seen so many pictures – that I think Mal also looks like Owen from Grey’s Anatomy (Kevin McKidd). Google him, I bet you’ll see a similarity.

  8. I actually thought that all season as I watch that show. I didn’t say anything cause I figure I am reading blogs too much if I start watching shows and say “hey, that looks like Tina’s husband”..ha.
what is in the dish by the toast? yogurt?

  9. Haha, I like Mal’s somewhat bemused expression in that photo. 🙂

When I was younger people would tell me that I looked like a brunette Kate Hudson. I’m not gonna lie, no one tells me that anymore and it kinda hurts! I also get Alexis Bledel (the girl who played the daughter on Gilmore Girls) fairly often.

Tina– who do people say you look like? I think you look like Hillary Swank. 🙂

  10. Lam – haha! I’ve been told I look like Kristin Kreuk. We do have the same first name! Though I think she’s much prettier!

Your soft serve yesterday gave me inspiration for my oatmeal today. I mashed a white chocolate macadamia cookie and mixed it into my oats – yummy!

  11. hehe aww that’s cute they really do look alike. I’ve been told i look like Zooey Deschanel, more so when i have brown hair. i don’t think i do but its nice that people think so.

  12. Wow-Mal does look like Kirk!

Your french toast sounds/looks awesome. I have the same problem with french toast, though. It never cooks all the way through on the stove top.

  13. I get a few people who said Cameron Diaz. However when I got my DL back in 2007 my family kept saying I looked a lot like someone famous but couldn’t put their finger on. Who knows?? BTW, Mal really does look like that guy!!!

  14. now im totally in the mood for french toast 🙂

I’ve been told by a bunch of people I look like Rachel McAdams. I don’t really see it but I think shes beautiful so I’ll take it!

  15. I’m loving the bachelorette this season, too! I’ve never watched it before but I’m totally hooked! I only got to watch half of it on hulu this morning and I almost stopped reading this post because I was scared you were going to say who went home! I can’t wait to watch the rest when I got home 🙂

  16. I LOVE the Bachelorette, although I haven’t been able to watch it on DVR yet, because NCAA 2010 came out today and my boyfriend took off work to play…oh, boys.

    Love your blog!

  17. I don’t look like anyone famous, but everyone who knows me says that Lady Gaga is my long lost soul mate. I can be extreme and I love her glam, performance art style.

  18. This was quite a few years ago now, but my cousin related a story of walking through a video store with her dad/my uncle, and upon seeing a cutout of Nicole Kidman my uncle exclaimed ‘That girl looks like *JavaChick*!’ which I thought was funny. Come to think of it, someone else made a Nicole Kidman comment once. I don’t see it myself, I suspect it’s the pale complexion and red hair.

  19. Mal does looks like Kirk!! When I was younger I was told I looked like Meg Ryan and Reese Witherspoon.. since my hair was lighter and shorter. I’ve gotten the Reese Witherspoon a few times as I got older, but I really don’t think I look like either of them or any celebrity really!

  20. Haha they do look a lot alike! These are the ones I always get, Katie Holmes circa Dawson’s Creek Days and Amanda Bynes. I have no problem with either one of them either!

  21. Aww, Lam went home last night. Were you not dying at the freezer in the basement?! I woke Pea Daddy up I was laughing so hard.

I get Kate Beckinsdale a lot. Mostly by visually impaired people. In the dark.

  22. Holy cow! They do look just alike!! I am a huge Bachelorette fan as well. 🙂 I get Carrie Underwood literally everywhere I go, ever since she was on American Idol! Which is fine by me b/c I love her!

  23. Kirk is my favorite from the Bachelorette! I’m never told I look like a celebrity but I always get told I look like someone someone knows. I guess I have a lot of twins out there

  24. I’ve been told on separate occasions that I look like an anime girl. Evidently I have very large eyes, a smallish mouth, and an angular chin? My friend recently told me I resemble Amy Adams. I was amused. 😀

  25. thats so funny about mal looking like kirk from the bachelorette!

i have always been told i look like janeane garofalo and because of that i started watching all her movies and stand up, in middle school or so, and started to imitate her speech pattern and dry humor, but not really on purpose, wish i resembled some of the other celebs listed though.

  26. I can definitely see the resemblance!
When I was younger, I was constantly told I looked like Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years (I think her real name is Danica ?) As I’ve gotten older, I’ve heard references from Alicia Silverstone to Jessica Alba. It’s always funny to hear someone else’s take on your body doubles! haha
