As you know, I’m really into The Bachelorette this season. Last night, while watching the newest episode, I realized that my husband looks a quite a bit like Kirk, one the bachelors on the show. Mal found it pretty amusing and acknowledged some of the similarities. He even started to call Kirk “Lam” (Mal spelled backwards)!
After receiving a few comments on CNC about Mal’s celebrity doppleganger, I knew that I needed to write a blog post about it. It was just too funny not to! No wonder I like The Bachelorette so much this season! š
Breakfast
For breakfast this morning, I made Chia Seed French Toast using the Chia Seed Quick Bread that I baked yesterday. I sliced up the loaf and let it marinate overnight in a mixture of egg, vanilla soymilk, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In the morning, I cooked the pieces on the stovetop in a skillet.
The bread was so thick and dense, it never really cooked through. The outside tasted great, but the inside wasn’t quite done. I might try baking the slices in the oven next time.
I also had some Stonyfield yogurt on the side and I’m rocking S’mores iced coffee with vanilla soymilk this morning. It’s a-mazing.
Question of the Day
Have you ever been told that you look like someone famous? Who’s your celebrity doppleganger?
P.S. Chia seeds are on sale until the end of the month. Buy 24 ounces and save 18% off when you enter the coupon code ChiaTastic at checkout.

OMG MAL does look like Kirk…and I was sad to see him go :*(
I get told very often that I look like Britney Spears….for about 8 years now….but Im just hoping the people who still think that are referring to the OLD Brit! not new crazy Brit! haha
My sister told me I looked like Kim Kardashian a few months ago…but it was just for a second! It made me smile momentarily though : )
I can definitely see the similarities of Kirk and Mal!
I used to get told I looked like Mariah Carey ALL the time when I was a bit younger. A few months ago a guy in a bar told me I looked like Kim Kardashian, which I don’t see at all, but he insisted. Not going to lie, it made my night cuz I think she is so pretty!
I’m sad I’ve never been told I look like someone famous! People think my dad looks like George Clooney though. I love your turtle plate btw.
I’ve never been told I look like anyone. Maybe that makes me unique :=)
I’ve gotten Sandra Bullock since “Speed” came out in high school. I still get it a bunch!
my celebrity doppleganger is an actress name “karin anna cheung” who starred in the movie “better luck tomorrow.” i was so often confused for her that i was cast to play her sister in another film – “the people i’ve slept with” – so it all worked out!
I have been told at least half a million times (slight exaggeration :)) that I look like Bridget Fonda. That is a random enough comparison that I know people must mean it!
Tina-
I recently started reading your blog and find it to be very interesting and informative. I was reading the about section and you said blogging is your full time job, how does that work? Do you own the blog and then earn money from sponsors? Also, is your book going to be about your life or recipes/healthy living? Also, I notice you post pictures of the food you eat, does that include everything, or just your meals?
@Beth: Yep, I make money from Foodbuzz as well as my other zillion of jobs.
I get told I look like Hilary Swank almost on a daily basis!
That french toast looks deeeelicious.
Oh my gosh he does look like him!
I’ve been told I look like Michelle Trachtenberg and Tanya(what a coinkydink that thats my name!) Dziahileva ..I dont really see it..but alls well š
I’ve been meaning to ask, where do you get all those interesting coffee flavors? I’ve been following your blog for about 3 months now..but I must have missed it!
The breakfast sounds amazing. I could see where the inside wouldn’t good because it’s such a thick bread.
I’m not able to use the couponcode for the Chia seeds at checkout. I noticed another reader had this same problem. Any advice on what we’re doing wrong?
Ha cool. I get Sandy Bullock and Anne Hathaway.not too shabby..lol
I’m just gonna toss my 2 cents in that Mal is better than Kirk.
Also, thick French toast does need to be baked to cook all the way through. I usually do mine at 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes. It needs to be cooked on, like, med-low for it’s stovetop round too. It’ll take awhile, but it’s SO good.
I hear Jenny McCarthy almost every day (our personalities are similar too)… and for those that listen to country, Natalie Maines.
I get that I look like annie from 90210 and darcy from degrassi a lot! (They’re the same people haha)
I just started my EMT class and I have already gotten it 3 times in 2 days! It”s kinda freaky! Check out my blog to see a picture of me and lemme no what you think!
With love and cupcakes,
Cookteen
Teehee, that’s rather amusing about Kirk and Mal! Sadly, we don’t get that show in Australia, so I can’t see for myself š
I don’t think I look like anyone famous personally, but I’ve recently been watching the Brit soap Coronation Street with my parents and for some reason, Samia Smith, who plays Maria Connor on the show, really reminds me of you! š
Mal reminds me SO much of Owen from Greys Anatomy!! I’ve wanted to comment that for a while now, but never got around to it, so funny that you did this post.
I can definitely see the kirk resemblance though!
I love this game! I get Rachel Weisz a lot, which is a pretty great compliment. If only!
