Rise and shine, it’s running time! (FYI: I’m doing Monica’s signature move! HA!)
And, apparently, it’s jazz hands time too. I have no idea why standing in a teepee inspired me to do jazz hands. Random.
This morning, Monica and I went for a run before our day started with Silk. We ran 4 miles with a couple of walk breaks mixed in (perhaps I was feeling the altitude?) and then we walked a mile back to our hotel.
Since we live on opposite coasts of the country, Monica and I always make it a point to run together when we see each other. Considering how far apart we live, we’ve actually run together quite a bit over the years. Monica even ran the last few miles of my first marathon with me! What a good friend!

Breakfast
After our run, I went back to my hotel room, showered, and got ready for the day. Silk suggested room service for breakfast, so I ordered eggs, bacon, potatoes, and fresh fruit.
I also ordered some decaf coffee with soy milk.
How awesome is room service? I don’t order it often, but when I do, it always makes me feel so fancy.

Question of the Day
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever run?
On the top of my list is the Charles River in Boston. Other favorites: San Francisco by the bay and Newport, Rhode Island along the oceanfront by all of the gorgeous mansions. I love running when I travel and exploring new places.

I love ordering room service! It always makes me feel so fancy, and isn’t really much more expensive than going out for breakfast when you’re out of town. Breakfast in bed is the best!
Lake Winnepesaukee NH is my fave local running route.
My family who lives in San Fran has a house in Sonoma. I went out there for Thanksgiving a few years ago and ran through wine country each morning. It was gorgeous
Such a good question! I love running along the Charles River too, and used to love running on the Brooklyn Heights promenade and over the Brooklyn Bridge when I used to live there but my favorite would have to be La Jolla, CA – running along the cliffs and beach was amazing. The West Coast is just a whole different ball game. Love, love, loved it!
Looks like such a fun trip! I’m obsessed with the mini bottle of Tobasco sauce that came with the room service, so cute!
What an awesome trip — and really, I think jazz hands are an appropriate response to anything cool/out of the ordinary, so I love the teepee-inspired jazz hands.
Those GF cookies look and sound amazing, which means I obviously have no choice but to try them myself. Obviously this will be difficult. 😉
It was good to see you these last few days- and we’ll get to hang out in again in less than two weeks! Maybe one day we’ll actually hang out in Weymouth (we’re trying to go visit Greg’s dad there in August!).
FYI, Jazz hands are better than my “duck face” or “random mouth wide open” shot. 😉
@Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning: You too! See you in a couple of weeks at Fitbloggin’! We should coordinate workout outfits again! 🙂
I don’t think I’ve ever ordered room service, but if I did, I would feel super fancy 🙂
Most beautiful running spot would have to be Portland, OR. So gorgeous! Nice 4miler – and so great that you have shared so many runs with Monica!
