Good morning! Happy Thursday!

You guys seemed to enjoy my first Photo Dump post, so here’s another one! I also need to delete some photos from my iPhone (so I can upgrade to iOS7), so this post has a dual purpose! Haha!

An antique gas pump. I snapped this pic at Harbes on my way to the Hamptons. I just loved the way it looked, especially the colors.

Ancho-Hibiscus Sparkling Sangria. I enjoyed this wonderful cocktail at the McCormick dinner at the Cooking Cottage. OMG, it was so delicious!

IMG_6481

My pile of mail when I got home from the Hamptons. Oh, boy.

IMG_6601

Mal giving Murphy bunny ears. Always makes me smile.

IMG_6627

On the way to the park. Murphy loves traveling with his pug head out the window.

IMG_6664

Buddy the Elf screenshot from Instagram. I love Buddy the Elf and lifting weights, so this cracked me up!

Pug YouTube video on our TV. Mal recently bought Google Chromecast, so now we can stream online video, music and more to our TV from our phones, tablets, and laptops. We were playing around with it one night, and I was pretty pumped about seeing puppy pugs on our TV, so I snapped a pic. Pug puppies are the cutest.

Glamglow Super Clearing Treatment Mud Mask. I actually bought this mask after reading a review about it that I found on Pinterest. It has both glycolic and salicylic acid, which help to improve skin texture and de-clog pores. I’ve only used it a couple of times so far, but it seems to help with clogged pores and it leaves my skin SO soft. I should actually use it again today. It’s been awhile.

So pumped about the mixed case of Angry Orchard. Have you guys tried the seasonal cinnamon flavor yet? Mmm… so good, especially with a cinnamon-sugar rim!

photo (5)

Driving somewhere with Mal. He’s so handsome.

photo (6)

Mal trying to put his socks on Murphy. We had just gotten back from CrossFit, so Murphy is licking him the entire time (because Mal is sweaty, salty, and delicious). They’re both ridiculous.

photo (7)

I found Murphy sleeping this way. It looks like he’s holding on for dear life!

photo (12)

Great idea from Runner’s World. I love this idea of planning ā€œtribute milesā€Ā to help get you through the toughest parts of your marathon (or any race really).

photo (15)

I forget who sent me this pug pic, but it’s one of my favorites ever. I saved it onto my phone because it was so funny.

photo (16)

A receipt that Mal left behind. You might remember that I have a bad habit of leaving the kitchen cabinets open when I cook. I thought I was getting better at closing them, but, apparently, I’m not and still leave them open all the time. I guess I was in denial about this, so Mal started to jokingly text me photos as proof of the kitchen cabinets I left open. I thought this was pretty funny, so I decided to play along and sent him photos of the receipts (and random trash) he leaves all over the house. Haha!

photo (17)

Rocky! We had a sleepover, and I snapped this picture of him. He’s one of my favorite dogs.

photo (18)

A spare key to our house. When Mal and I went to visit Dave and Marie a few weeks ago, they gave us back our spare key. Isn’t that kind of sad? We miss them a whole lot.

Top 10 Reasons to Adopt a Black Cat. Another screenshot from Instagram. I thought this was adorable. I still need to send it to my aunt, Peg, who loves black cats. She would get a kick out of it.

A photo from one of my long runs. I love fall running.

The end.

P.S. Love this post: CrossFitters Eat Their Young – For Time. Reading it actually got me a little misty-eyed. No one finishes a WOD alone!

  1. Ok #1, I love Buddy the Elf too! I will probably watch the movie 20 times starting next month through the end of December but I quote it year round. #2, I’m getting ready to run my first half in 5 weeks (super nervous) so tribute miles will probably help me out. But did you read the one below it that says to give your black toenail to someone….ewww! I don’t know what I’d do if someone did that to me!

  2. I LOVE piles of mail – as long as they’re not bills šŸ˜‰ Yours looks like it had a fab Stitch Fix box in it so I’d be happy! My husband also leaves receipts ALL over our house. Glad I’m not the only one who has to pick up after the hubs!

  3. Yay, first comment :o)

I love Angry Orchard!! I first saw the mixed case at the end of August, when we were shopping for adult beverages for our trip to the beach. Especially loved the Cinnful flavor, got me in the fall mood!!! And it’s gluten-free, which is always a plus for me!!

  4. The photo of Murphy sleeping on the couch like that is hilarious. I was totally laughing out loud here at work. Dogs and cats are so funny like that! My dog Hawkeye was once found sleeping on his back on the edge of a pillow propped up by the couch arm chair..

  5. Awwww the black cat thing is too cute – someone went above and beyond to get that cat adopted! Haha. And um, that sleeping position of Murphy’s?!? HAha I want to know how he managed to fall asleep like that! Too funny.

  6. I love these photo dump posts!! Thanks for the peak into your life…and I am also culprit of leaving the cabinets open while cooking (I might NEED to get something or put something away and leaving the cabinets open is so much more convenient!)

  7. I loved that compete everday post! so awesome! Crossfit is my next mission, as soon as I no longer cheer, but that cult mentality reminds me a lot of cheer. LOVE it!

  8. Love the tribute mile idea, I’m running my first full marathon in a couple weeks and will definitely remember that! But did you read the one below it??!?!?! SICK.

  9. The picture of Murphy sleeping in such a precarious position made me laugh out loud this morning Ć°ÅøĖœā‚¬ Thanks, I needed that!

  10. I love black cats. The picture of Murphy sleeping is so cute. My boxer is on the couch right now snoring!! His big chops are going up and down!

  11. For my fifth marathon, I wrote out a list beforehand of “The 26(point 2) Reasons to Keep Going.” One of the reasons was all of the people who supported me through that training, so from mile 18 onward, I started thinking of specific people. The whole tactic worked so well that I did it for my next two marathons!

  12. That is interesting to me that black cats are the least likely to be adopted. I guess people are superstitious. When we moved into our first house growing up we got a bunch of pets and one was a black cat. I then I got another black cat when I moved into my own place a few years ago. I love kitties and I think black cats are pretty. I want another kitty!

  13. black cats are the best, I call them my Halloween cats. My mom always had black cats and I got the love bug they really have great personalities. I have 3 friend who all own black pugs and they are all from the same litter except the newest one. my bff mom had a black and tan pug that had puppies and most were black, got to love that pug snorting!

  14. We have a black cat! People always say she’s so pretty with her green eyes. Didn’t even realize until after the fact that people don’t adopt them because of superstition. Seems so silly!

  15. Love the black cat list. I used to volunteer at the MDSPCA and when they got too many black cats or black and white cats (apparently no one wants them either šŸ™ ) they would make them free. They wouldn’t advertise it because they didn’t want people who didn’t really want a cat to get one just because it was free, but then when you went through the whole process it would turn out there was no adoption fee. My sweetie is black and white though, and she really does go with the decor! But you still always have to lint brush. I joke that she sheds her black fur when I’m wearing white and her white fur when I’m wearing black.

And yeah, that toenail thing is disgusting …

  16. I absolutely LOVE the photos of Murphy. My parents have 3 pugs and since I’ve moved out, I really do miss them and their silly antics. Murphy helps fill my pug void.

  17. Tina. You’re the cutest. Thanks for sharing your little snappets. (see what i did there? picture snippets. lulz) I like these posts because they are a great reminder to stop and enjoy the little things.

  18. I like that your aunt Peg loves Black Cats since I am a “peg” and I actually have a black cat too šŸ™‚ My sweet Kolby, I just love my black Kitty.

  19. I have that exact same bad habit! I’ve always had it because I remember when I was in middle school and high school, I would spend the night out and my friends’ parents would get annoyed with me for leaving cabinets open. Now I live by myself, so it’s not that big of a deal, but I actually get mad at myself for leaving them open. It’s definitely a habit I’m trying hard to break! I once heard someone giving a cooking lecture and he said he took the doors off all his cabinets so they are just open to grab stuff from. I’ve thought about it…

Murphy sleeping like that cracks me up!

    1. Thanks for the link! I’ve actually blogged about fecal transplants (similar but not in pill form) on CNC in the past. It’s crazy, but it seems to work! I hope the FDA gets their butts in gear to approve it for UC patients!

  20. Gusman goes CRAZY when we come back from run’s or any super sweaty activity. He’s not much of a licker, but boy when we are salty — he thinks he’s getting a special treat!

  21. That makes me sad that black cats are the least likely to be adopted! I saw two up for adoption at PetSmart in Hanover, but I’m allergic. They seemed really sweet, though!

  22. i was so excited when I saw the cinnamon angry orchard but….it just doesn’t do it for me! It’s almost too cinnamon-y! I can’t have more than one.
Have you tried Jack-o Travelers Shandy? It’s a delicious pumpkin/lemon-y beer.

Also, try mixing half angry orchard hard cider and half of a pumpkin beer (UFO’s is really good for it)

  23. I love the pics, especially the one of Murphy licking Mal while he’s trying to put his socks on him! My dog loves licking us after our workouts, my husband and I call it “salt assault”!
