Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

We spent the last few hours of our Newport vacation watching the Pats game on TV. It’s our yearly tradition to watch it at a low-key pub called Mudville. However, when we arrived, ready to watch the game, we realized that Mudville was closed for renovations. Wicked bummer! 😕

Luckily, we didn’t need to walk far to find another place to watch the game.

Buskers is a family-owned Irish pub and restaurant with lots of beers on tap, a nice selection of “pub grub,” and big flat-screen TV to watch the game. We were happy campers there! 😀

Everyone ordered a beer to enjoy while watching the Pats, but I wasn’t in the mood for any more booze. I had my fair share this weekend! 😳 Instead, I drank a good ol’ iced cold glass of water.

For lunch, Mal and I split an order of loaded nachos.

Of course, I dominated the cheesy ones! 😉

We left Newport around half time so we could picked up M.P from my sister’s house. Murph was excited to see us, but we were even more excited to see him! I missed his cute pug face so much!

I missed his cute pug tail too!

When we got home, Mal installed our new Waterpik EcoFlow shower head, which the company sent me to test out many months ago.

The shower head saves up to a gallon of water per minute and features five different spray settings. It’s pretty fancy-schmancy!

The EcoFlow shower head is supposed to save you more than $90 annually on your water bill! I really hope it does!

Mal installed the shower head in about 60 seconds. He said it was the easiest thing to install ever.

Of course, Mal had a little help from his doggie sidekick.

We’re having strawberry-banana-kiwi smoothies for dinner and catching up with our DVR tonight.

Good night, bloggies!

  1. Sounds like a great night! Your sidekick is just too cute… love the pug tail pic. 🙂
That shower head looks awesome… hows the pressure? I’m curious- does it feel any differently? I might have to invest in one!

  2. awwwwwwww your pug is the cutest thing EVVVERRR 🙂 I bet you are so happy to be home…

also those loaded nachos look AMAZING!
    Enjoy the smoothies!

  3. I love Murph. Having a little doggie really brings so much happiness to your life 🙂

I am catching up on my DVR too tonight. Sunday nights are perfect for just that!

  4. Love Buskers and Benjamins and everything Newport! I kind of want to move there, but it would probably be a lot harder to find a job! Can you even believe how much you miss a pet on a weekend away?!

  5. Holy cow, savings of $901 annually?!! I am so lucky that every place I’ve lived in so far has included free water. I didn’t realize it was so expensive!! (then again, I have always lived in one bedroom apartments)

  6. I have that showerhead! I love it! I feel like I save money… plus it has really come in handy since I smashed my ankle to bits and have been in a cast. 🙂

  7. I certainly hope you’re not spending so much on water that a shower head would save you $900! 😉 I think you transposed the 9 and 1 there.

  8. awesome shower head! whenever i get my own place im def getting one of those. and i love murphey’s little red collar!

  9. Murphy is just gorgeous. I almost never see pugs where I live (NZ), but you’re giving me a whole new appreciation for them! 🙂 Has he super-bonded with Mal? I got a Cavoodle puppy last year, but I ended up having to be away at university a lot during the day and he spent so much time with my mother that that they’re now inseparable (like, to the point where he gets separation anxiety if she leaves the room!), so she bought him off me. I think it’s partly a proximity thing in their earliest weeks; Mum was around Remus far more often, so he became her shadow! Perhaps I’ll try again in a few years when I hopefully have my own place! 🙂

  10. If you don’t mind my asking, how are you going with the toilet training with Murphy? It’s taken us a YEAR to toilet-train our puppy and I keep hearing people say that they managed to potty train in a week! Embarrassing!

  11. Ha! Murphy is fascinated- so cute. Some other blogger just got one of those- I think Jogger’s Life. I know they are used widely in Europe and have always lamented that they aren’t used here more! Love the easy-of-use 😉

  12. I have definitely been to Buskers before! haha, I love how excited I get when I recognize a restaurant on a blog post 🙂

I’m sure you were thrilled to see Murphy! I’m leaving my puppy for the first time this weekend, and must confess that I’m not looking very forward to it at all =/

  13. Hi Tina,
The shower head doesn’t save $901 annually, it saves $90 annually (as per the website). Huuge difference. You might want to address this.
