Check out the newest addition to our home!
So psyched!
[rewind to yesterday morning]
Breakfast
I slept in a little, so I threw together a quick breakfast of peanut butter and banana slices on a whole wheat wrap before heading out to run.
Workout
My plan was to run 3 miles from my house to our CrossFit box, stretch and work on mobility when I got there, and then run 3 miles home, but it was so frickin’ hot outside, I nixed the second part of my run.
MurphyĀ got to hang out at CrossFit yesterday!
Once Open Gym at CrossFit ended, Mal and I chatted with a couple of our friends (Colleen and Rob). They asked us what we had planned for the rest of day, so we told them we were picking up our new patio set. Mal and I have small cars, so his parents were planning to drive down with their SUV to help us move it. Rob owns a big van for his job, so he offered to help us. Mal and I were actually a little worried about how we’d fit the table, chairs, and umbrella in his parents’ SUV (we figured we’d take multiple trips), so we took our friends up on their offer. It sounded so much easier!
We had about 30 minutes to kill before until the furniture store opened, so the four five of us (Murphy came along for the ride) stopped by Cumberland Farms to get iced coffees.
Can we talk about this?
Please note the hashtag: #icedhoffee! LOL!
Making iced coffee at Cumberland Farm was a lot of fun. You can pick all sorts of flavors to add to it, so I went with amaretto and coconut. Also awesome: it’s just $0.99 for all of the different sizes. What a deal!
With iced coffee in hand, we drove to pick up our new patio furniture.
The guys moved the furniture into the van while the ladies cheered them on.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
YAY!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for helping us, Rob and Colleen! We owe ya!
After lunch, Mal and I spent a couple of hours doing yard work. We figured since we were already gross and sweaty from working out, we might as well get it done. Our backyard is coming along nicely!
Lunch
For lunch, I made a Sweet Potato Quesadilla. (Yes, I’m obsessed with them.)
I also ate a bunch of almonds while I waited for it to cook.
Dinner
For dinner, Mal’s parents came over for a barbequeāāand, of course, to see our new patio set.
On the menu: Blue Cheese Burgers.
Salad.
Sweet Potato Wedges cooked in coconut oil.
And plenty of condiments. We had 10 different bottles on the table! Ha!
My plate:
While we ate, Murphy chilled on the floor next to the table.
Eventually, he gave up on any of us potentially dropping food.
We ended up sitting outside and chatting well into the evening. The Sweet Potato Wedges were right next to me, so I finished them off.
Fun little Sunday!
Question of the Day
What’s your favorite grill-able food?

fresh corn on the cob is one of my favorites to grill — mmm!
Um that Hasselhoff iced coffee. What the hell? Why is he everywhere shilling random stuff? Look at his very odd Lean Pockets commercial, which has gotten TONS of flack. What is he thinking?! http://blisstree.com/eat/david-hasselhoff-lean-pockets-commercial-offensive-742/
@Dori: I know, right?! So random!
LOVE the patio furniture and you have the perfect spot for it! š
I love grilling veggies, so easy and delicious!
Vegetables cooked on the grill always taste better! Squash, asparagus, peppers, all of it!
Grilled veggies and fruit – both so amazing and better than raw!
Nice patio set! I especially love the chairs – they look comfy. My favorites foods to grill are the traditional hamburgers & hotdogs/sauages, red potatoes and corn on the cob š
The chairs are what sold me. They rock! š
Asparagus, hands down! Gives it so much flavor!
Corn on the cob is my favorite grill-able…and I’m also into grilled pineapple and peaches these days
Hahah those faces Hasselhoff is making for iced coffee. Hilarious!
Love the new patio furniture! And those sweet potatoe wedges look sooo good!
I cannot for the life of me get my sweet potato wedges to be crispy!! Every time they come out soggy or burned š
@Jess: Maybe you’re putting too much coconut oil on them? That or crank up the temperature of the oven (since all ovens vary!).
@Jess: Crack up the heat at the end. I usually broil them for 5 minutes to get them nice and crispy! š
Your patio furniture looks gorgeous!! We just got our new patio furniture from BJ’s. It was a MUCH better deal than anywhere else we went! That stuff is expensive!! Who knew?!
i love your new patio furniture! my all-time favorite things to grill are sweet potato wedges, pineapple, and pizza!
Your deck looks so nice! That’s a great addition to your house.
I really need to try the sweet potato quesadilla. I’ve got a sweet potato at home, so maybe tonight. š
I tried watermelon and it was kinda weird but awesome.
I love how small changes make such a huge difference to a space…nice patio set! I think most things taste better cooked on a grill. Just me?
I don’t know if you’ve already answered this but what kind/brand of wraps are those?! They look like they have flax seeds in them! Yummy!

Love the new patio furniture! Nothing is better than grilling out in the summer! It was so hot yesterday! I’m impressed you ran 3 miles in it and then went to CrossFit! Awesome!
Haha those iced coffee pictures made my day. And thanks for the info on their iced coffee. Question: does it come with creamer already in it or is it black? We have Wawa’s in NJ and their iced coffee is pre-sweetened and has some sort of cream in it. I hate the way it tastes! So wish I could buy it š

My husband LOVES the coffee at Cumberland Farms now! He’s a pretty huge DD and Sbux fan so it’s big when he likes somewhere else just as much or better!
