I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Mal, Murphy, and I had a great one!
It started out like a regular day: OMG Pancakes for breakfast.
A CrossFit workout.
We did a hero WOD (“D.T.”) in honor of Independence Day.
And then Mal and I decided to host a last-minute barbeque at our house, which meant we needed to take a quick trip to the grocery store.
Clean our house.
And backyard.
And prep the food.
We kept the menu short and sweet, which really simplified things for us.
Ready to party!
We served veggies and dip.
Cherries.
Watermelon, cheeseburgers, and Pretzel Crisps with salsa.
Our friends brought ribs, pasta salad, cookies, more burgers, sausage, chicken.
Red velvet cake.
Watermelon beer, homemade wine, more watermelon, and Doritos.
We had quite the feast!
Besides tons of delicious food and drink, there was also plenty of yard games.
Polish horseshoes.
With Burpee penalties!
Team Blue Shirt.
Good times!
How did you spend your 4th of July?

FUN!!! and I have to comment that your shirt has to be the cutest shirt EVER!!!! Love it!! I am a new reader of your blog and I just got your book and I am enjoying reading at the pool (after my run)
Hi Tina, your impromptu barbecue looked like so much fun! Question – do your friends feel like they need to look picture perfect when they hang out with you guys? I’m just curious – do some of them opt out of appearing on the blog?

Just wanted to say I love the tank top you’re wearing in these pictures and I love the Jalapeno pretzel crisps! Looks like you had a great 4th!
Ahh that looks like so much fun! I need some new summer bbq games! Got any good rec’s? 🙂
My fourth of July was awesome (even though it was the first one I wasn’t able to spend on Cape Cod with all of my high school friends). We had a fun day poolside, grilling burgers, dogs and ribs, and muting on veggies and dip, and some chips. We had a corn hole set we made good use of too. Then ended the night watching fireworks on the bay ( we could see about 6 different groups setting them off from way in the distance, really cool!).
