Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

There’s no hiding my baby bump this week!

I think I’ve finally popped? Popped-ish?

Egg sandwiches, toasted English muffins with nut butter, smoothies, green juice, fresh fruit (especially clementines and pineapple), yogurt, ketchup on everything, white wine. (Side note: I tried alcohol-free wine. Eh. Not a fan. However, alcohol-free champagne + orange juice tastes just like a real mimosa!)

Same as before, but no new ones. Thank goodness!

Frequent urination: I’m still a peeing machine, but I’m also drinking a lot more water now, especially compared to my first trimester when drinking a lot of liquids made my stomach queezy. I’m also really thirsty lately, so I am making a conscious effort to drink up.

Morning sickness: Almost completely gone! Late at night, I still don’t feel great, but I am almost back to my old self during the day.

Itchiness: I am still a little itchy, but better. I bought  some Belli Elasticity Belly Oil to help with stretch marks (just in case) and the oil seems to help with the itchiness too.

Restless sleep: I am still waking up between 3:00 – 4:00 every morning, but now I can’t fall asleep. My brain just won’t shut off. The pink elephant trick works most of the time, but I still let my mind wander for too long. Maybe I am more stressed out than I realize?

Weight gain: 20 pounds! I’m still ahead of the typical weight gain, but, again, my doctor is not concerned. And Baby Haupert is ahead of the game too and measuring a whole week ahead! I wonder if that means that I’m 19 weeks? There was some confusion in the beginning as to when I officially conceived. I dunno, but Mal would be pumped about a May baby!

Last week was especially exciting because Mal and I got to see Baby Haupert during my 18-week ultrasound.

Check out those little feet! OMG, so cute.

During the 18-week ultrasound, you usually have the option of finding out the sex of the baby. Before I got pregnant, Mal and I were all about being surprised and waiting to find out until he or she was born. Well, as soon as we had a bun in the oven, we wanted to know immediately, so, of course, we opted to find out.

And we’re having a”¦

We couldn’t be more thrilled about Baby BOY Haupert! Now, I really have to learn to love football!

  1. Everyone is having baby boys!!! All the bloggers I follow who are pregnant or recently had babies are boy mamas!! It is so exciting! I will be happy with whatever I end up with and I cannot wait to be a mom! Congrats!!

  2. I’ve been so absent from the blogosphere that I had no idea you were expecting! First off, CONGRATS!!! What an exciting time for you both! And boy!!! Couldn’t be happier for you. Wishing you and your family the best 🙂

  3. Wow! It’s been forever since I’ve read your blog (ever since google reader went away, I can’t keep up with anything anymore!), but I decided to pop by today to see what was up. Congrats!! 🙂

  4. Congratulations! No doubt he’ll be an active little boy!

On a side note, the body oils help with the itching/prevention of stretch marks and I heard a good one is the oil from The Honest Co.

  5. Woohoo!! Your bump is so cute and tiny. I gained a lot of weight at the beginning during my pregnancy with Lucy (20 lbs) but then not much during the 2nd trimester. It all evens out in the end, and let me tell you, breastfeeding a lot is a great weight-loss booster 🙂

For the itching I use Honest Company belly balm – I highly recommend it!

  6. Yay! I had to keep myself from scrolling to the end of the post to see the gender reveal.

As a HUGE Jesse fan, I cracked up at the hoodie. Just please make sure he does not learn the phrase “Mr. White YO” before his other words :).

    1. @Kel:

HA! My husband and I tend to finish a lot of our sentences to each other with “yo” or “b*tch!”

Congrats Tina & Mal! We have a son (and may be a bit biased) but boys are just the best!!

  7. Congratulations!!!! Boy’s are sooooo fun! I will say it’s harder to find cute clothes though, they make them all for girls. But, by the looks of it you already got some pretty awesome ones! My little boy just turned 5 months old. He is the best thing to ever happen to my husband and I! Your heart basically explodes with love the first time you see them.

  8. I am so happy for you and your family Tina. I am the mom to a boy…who is 18 and in college. Watching you in your pregnancy is bringing back such wonderful memories. Take the time to enjoy it all…goes by in a flash.

  9. Congrats Tina!!! I have a 6 week old baby boy and he is so precious.
By the way, wine was my biggest craving during my pregnancy. I couldn’t wait to have baby so I could have a glass. I know it’s ok in moderation but I just didn’t want to try it. Have a great pregnancy!

  10. Yay, congrats! You look fantastic and glad to hear the baby is fine, sometimes those tests can be scary! Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy, it goes fast!

  11. Aww…I think having a boy for your first is so cool. A) guaranteed to carry on the Haupert last name! B) Big brothers are the best so if you have other kids you’ll always have the big brother for your other kids.

    Glad you’re feeling better too…

  12. EEEEEK! Congratulations! That is so exciting and I am glad all of the tests came back okay. It must have been quite a nerve racking time thinking that something could be up. Love the little clothes, that is going to be one well dressed little man.

  13. Sex. You found out the baby’s sex, not gender. You’ll find that out when the baby tells you. Gender isn’t determined by an ultrasound…LOL!

  14. Your teeny bump is so cute. Congrats on the boy! I have a one year old boy and he is so much fun. When I was pregnant I was kind of hoping for a girl but I’m actually really pumped to have a boy. My little mama’s boy, hehe.

  15. Oh! Check out for the cutest crossfit stuff for your little man. Your nephew and your son will have a blast working out with you and Mal!

  16. Congrats!

I’m 26 wks along expecting a boy too! I have a daughter who will be 16 months when he’s born in April. I’ll be a little busy 🙂

    Enjoy this time!!
