Bright and early on Friday morning, I’m heading to Carson, California for the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games. Woohoo times a million!
I went to the 2012 CrossFit Games last year, and it was like friggin’ CrossFit Christmas. I know I had the goofiest smile on my face for the entire trip. I still can’t believe I’m going again this year. How is this my life?!
I am so incredibly fortunate and thankful to be attending once again on behalf of Reebok and Fitfluential. I’ll be in Carson for the three-day individual competition along with a few other bloggers: Anne, Ericka, and Gina. Obviously, I am pumped.
If you want to watch the Games starting Friday morning, they will be covered live on games.crossfit.com (ESPN3). ESPN2 will air the final on Sunday at 4PM (PST). You can find the full schedule and details here.
I will be Instagram-ing and Tweeting all weekend long, so be sure to follow me (CarrotsNCake). You can also follow the Games at @CrossfitGames and #CrossFitGames.
OMG. I still can’t believe I’m going!!!
Of course, with the Games happening this weekend, it’s all we’ve been talking about in the Haupert household lately. The workouts alone are a hot topic:
- Pool WOD with slippery-ass bar muscle ups
- Half marathon row (how long do you think that will take?)
- Naughty Nancy
- Wall Burpees <— just when you thought Burpees couldn’t get any worse!
All I know is Mal and I spend way too much time talking about these things.
We also spend a lot of time talking about who is going to win the individual competition. I think Rich Froning will probably win again with Matt Chan, Dan Bailey, and Scott Panchik putting up a really good fight. I will, of course, be cheering (loudly) for my CrossFit boyfriends, Daniel Tyminski and Austin Malleolo (and Chris Spealler in spirit). For ladies, I’m routing for Kristan Clever, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Danielle Horan, and Christy Phillips. I have no idea who will win for the ladies, but I have a good feeling about Kristan. She did really well last year, and I think she was injured. Hopefully, she’s in good health this year and will kick butt again!
Questions of the Day
CrossFit friends: Who do you think is going to win the individual competition at the Games?
If you’re not into CrossFit, what’s “your” sport? Who’s “your” team?
CrossFit is definitely my sport. I could care less about football, baseball, or hockey, but CrossFit is something I enjoy watching, and Mal and I can talk about it together. I actually think I know more about the athletes than he does!
