Good morning and a very happy Monday to you!

I love a good High Low High blog post, so here’s a recap of our weekend, which shares both the high and low points from it. I always like to focus on the positive side of things, so there’s typically more highs than lows. With that, here we go! And, of course, I’d love to hear about your weekend too, so feel free to share some highs and lows in the comment section below!

HIGH: Working out at Salt Shack on Saturday morning! It was such a busy week last week, I only made it there once, so I was excited to get my sweat on!

LOW: Mal missing a fun class because of Saturday school. (Saturday school is basically weekend detention – he covers it every few months.)

HIGH: Working out with Marisa! Salt Shack is kind of far from her house, but she sometimes pops in on the weekend, so it was fun working out and catching up with her!

HIGH: Visiting Coffee Shack with Qman after class for a glazed donut and iced coffee.

LOW: Quinn leaving the lame part of the donut for me. He just ate the delicious sugary edge! Haha! It’s the same way I eat donuts, so I totally get it! 🙂

HIGH: Visiting the open house at the Hanover Fire Department!

Quinn had THE BEST time!!

HIGH: Trying 3PM Bites! They actually showed up at my house right when I wanted a snack – perfect timing! They’re really tasty and so convenient!

HIGH: Enjoying date night with Mal!

LOW: Sitting in SO MUCH traffic on the way to South Boston.

HIGH: Enjoying a delicious dinner at Worden Hall. The nice folks from the restaurant invited us for dinner, and we were more than happy to accept!

Mal and I ordered some drinks to start. He was really excited about the beer list, and I loved seeing a mineral-y white from France – my newest wine obsession!

The Loaded Sweet Potato Fries immediately caught my attention on the Chef’s Specials menu. Hickory smoked chicken, sharp white cheddar, and Memphis BBQ sauce over sweet potato fries?! HELLO!! It was basically my dream appetizer, and, my gosh, they were amazing!

For my entree, I ordered the San-Seared Faroe Island Salmon, which was served with fingerling potatoes, carrots, and an English pea puree. Delish!

And, for dessert… whoa… this one was epic. Listen to this combo: Churro Sundae made with malted vanilla ice cream, caramel popcorn, pumpkin seed brittle, chocolate ganache, and apple cider caramel. It’s definitely a dessert we’ll never forget!

What an awesome night. Thank you, Worden Hall, for the invite! We’ll definitely be back! 🙂

Question of the Day

How was your weekend? Please share your high, low, high!

  1. My son spent the weekend at grandma’s, so my husband and I had a two-day date! The high was spending time with my husband, and the low was missing my son. It was fun but felt great to be together again!

  2. okay so that restaurant looks amazing – I would eat all of that dessert no problem!
I laughed out loud at the donut Quinn left for you!
High – spending time with family
    Low – so much rain!

  3. Guess he picked up that habit from you! High for the weekend was a beautiful Saturday morning walk and breakfast with my boyfriend and his daughter. Low was not getting enough work done, but maybe that’s a high in disguise. 😉

  4. Those sweet potato fries look amazing!!

HIGH: My parents delivering the couch I got from my grandparent’s house.
LOW: Finding out I have mono and having to spend my weekend on the couch.
HIGH: The boy bringing over soup and kombucha for me.

  5. You guys look so cute!

High: Got a lot of stuff done in the yard over the weekend
Low: Still have “communication” issues with my parents….its never ending. ;-(

  6. I noticed any time you go into the city that you drive rather than taking the mbta and was wondering why? Just my own curiosity because I take the red line to work!

    1. We don’t live close to the T anymore, so it’s a lot easier and quicker to drive. We take the ferry out of Hingham every once in awhile though – just depends on where we’re going in the city!

  7. Date nights are so fun! And those sweet potato fries are what dreams are made of. My weekend: High – going to a brewery + dog adoption event, Low – not being able to adopt a sweet 8-year-old pup named Kookie because she doesn’t get along with other dogs, High – going to dinner with one of my best friends from New Orleans last night! We hit up Magnolia’s on King St. in Alexandria, VA and it was a blast. 🙂
