Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

Hello, hello and a very happy Monday to you!

How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Feeling good about the week ahead?

Once again, our weekend was jam-packed. It was all fun stuff, so I’m totally not complaining, but it seems like it was just Friday. Holy cow, it was a whirlwind weekend for sure. Anyway, I love a good High Low High post as a way to recap the weekend, so here we go with edition #14!

HIGH: Visiting friends and celebrating their little guy’s first birthday with an adorable under the sea party theme. Isn’t this cake amazing!?

LOW: Qman throwing up on the drive home. There was a buttload of stop and go traffic and he was in the backseat reading a book, so the combination of the two gave him motion sickness. Poor kid.

HIGH: Unpacking our fall decorations! Yayyyyyy!

LOW: Realizing that we need more fall decorations. Things definitely look a bit bare around the house, so I will be hitting up Homegoods later this week.

HIGH: Having friends over on Saturday night for take-out Greek food, drinks, and football. It was such a good time and we had SO MANY LAUGHS!

LOW: Waking up on Sunday morning and realizing I probably had a little too much fun. Oy. Getting old is tough.

HIGH: Getting back on track with a meal plan from Designed to Fit Nutrition! We recently added some new recipes, so I’m especially excited to try them out this week!

LOW: Having a brand new meal plan and high motivation, but then barely having any (healthy) food in the house. Whomp whomp. (I went to Trader Joe’s later that morning.)

HIGH: Attending the Cycle & Sweat Fitness Block Party at the Derby Street Shoppes. What a fun event. Full recap coming soon!

LOW: Realizing that my new purple leggings show sweat in some rather inappropriate areas, which means they’re now “lifestyle” (not workout) leggings. I am one sweaty gal. Haha!

HIGH: Using my new diaper bag and absolutely loving it! It has tons of pockets, compartments, and accessories, and it’s truly the perfect size– roomy, but not TOO big. It could totally double as a regular purse. I actually like it even more than my old one AND it cost like half the price!

LOW: Ok, I really did love my previous diaper bag, so it was a little sad getting rid of it. So, here’s what happened: We had a little vomit incident last month, and I just couldn’t get the smell out. No matter what I tried, it smelled like a puke-y, fishy aquarium. Blah. It just had to go.

HIGH: Making progress in our master closet (i.e. adding recessed lighting, taking down ugly shelving, patching holes, and painting) because we’re getting a new one later this week! So pumped!!!!!

HIGH: Finally buying a tripod, so I can make some workout videos for you guys! Any requests? Smile

Question of the Day

Your turn! Share a high and low from your weekend!

P.S. You can still purchase one of the “Happy Hour Starts Now” tanks to benefit the CCFA! They’re only available for another week, so be sure to hop on it! 🙂

  1. High: Saturday. It was a day of long runs that helped me put a stamp and seal on this summer of running (and that means showing Crohn’s Disease what for in the process), brunch, hanging out all day with my mom, playing with my puppy, and ending the night with a delicious al fresco meal and froyo. I couldn’t have asked for more!

  2. That diaper bag is so great. I recently switched to using a big purse because I felt like I never used all the stuff in our diaper bag but now I feel like I don’t have everything I need, upgrading to a slightly bigger bag would be helpful, thanks for sharing! The nosy side of me would love to see what you keep in your diaper bag. I’ve enjoyed your posts about what you pack for trips and think seeing what you carry around day to day would be fun too!

  3. I went to HomeGoods Saturday night in pursuit of more fall decorations myself. I only left with a decorative pillow and dish towels though – my HG’s fall selection was pretty bare. Whomp. I’ve seen tons of decorations I love at Pier One but for more than I’d like to spend. Hopefully you’ll have better luck!

  4. Ahhh the colorful workout pants problem. I swear this happens to me in ANY non-black workout pants. I just want cute colorful ones though! What’s a girl to dooo?!

  5. Inappropriate sweat stains post-workout are the worst! I no longer workout in any bottoms besides black ones solely for that reason – so embarassing!

  6. I bought some super cute fall decorations at TJ Maxx the other day! I love fall/winter decorating! (I’m not very good at spring/summer decorating)

High – Spending time with our neighbors (new and old) all weekend! Such a fun time!

Low – Not finding what I wanted at a childrens tag sale (this is as low as my weekend was so I can’t complain!)

  7. I second the black workout pants. And sometimes those even show if it’s been a really tough workout. Flowy, fitted workout tops help 🙂 Except for the puke, sounds like a great weekend! My high was lots of time with my girls, (my boys were camping) my low was a head cold…..

  8. High is being back in my hometown with all my family to celebrate my sister’s wedding next weekend.

Low is that my 11-month old son is having trouble adjusting to all the excitement and is having trouble sleeping! He’s also teething. 🙁 Lots of crying.

  9. High would be having swiss raclette with my husband’s family last night. Low was that I had to work all weekend (such is life as a hotel manager)!

  10. High- Traveling from Florida to BSU in Muncie, Indiana to visit my daughter – freshman.
    Low – Leaving Sunday
High – knowing she is doing well on her own so far from home
Low – Hold on tight Tina – they grow up way too fast!!!!!!

  11. Low – 10 mile run on Saturday morning (it was a tough one)
High – Getting said run out of the way so I could enjoy the rest of the weekend (oh and the cheeseburger I had for lunch afterwards)

    I hope you’ll do a post/closet tour when it’s done! 🙂

  12. In your fall decorating pics I was waiting for the skull to appear….bha ha ha 🙂 Keep up the great work. Thanks for all you do!

  13. Ha. I did a sweaty yoga session yesterday in purple tights and noticed some inappropriate sweat going on, as well. Fortunately I was at home where my cat’s don’t judge.

  14. I would love an ab workout video for a mom who just had a little one. My abs still seem a little separated and I get worried about making it worse by not doing the correct ab exercises.

  15. Any recommendations for workout bottoms that don’t show sweat in inappropriate places? I’m super sweaty too! I saw lots of your readers recommended black, but I haven’t had much luck with black. Any certain fabric you look for? thanks!
