The nice thing about being my own boss is the ability to make my own work schedule. I spent a lot of time glued to my computer this week, so I gave myself permission to work the morning and take the rest of the afternoon off. Hooray for half day Fridays!!
Lunch
This afternoon, I met my friend, Jen, for lunch at The Kinsale, an Irish pub and restaurant in downtown Boston. I love The Kinsale. It’s one of those places I can always count on for a good dining experience.
As soon as we sat down at the table, Jen and I both ordered a drink. A pint of Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale for me; an extra spicy Bloody Mary for her. TGIF!
To eat, I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries on the side. I ate almost the entire sandwich, but only a few of the fries. I was really in the mood for buffalo sauce this afternoon!
After lunch, Jen and I headed over to City Hall Plaza in search of the Cookie CAREavan. It didn’t take us long to find it!
Happy Cookie Friday to me!
A couple of readers met me for cookies too! Thanks for coming, Casey and Stephanie!
I spent the rest of the afternoon doing small projects around the house and hanging out with M & m. Now, I’m relaxing and catching up with my DVR, including the final episode of Oprah. (I bet I’ll cry at the end.)
Have a nice night, guys!!!
P.S. What do you think of my shorts? Keep ’em or donate ’em?

Sounds like a great day Tina! Enjoy your evening!
Being self-employed does have its advantages! Have a wonderful, sun-filled weekend! š
I just got back from Ireland and we stayed a night in Kinsale! It’s beautiful!
I’m jealous of you’re 1/2 day on Friday, and that it’s sunny there! Hopefully it will warm up here and once I’m done with work I’ll be able to enjoy the summery sunshine š
we used to have a cookie truck that drove around campus at night and they had the best cookies ever!
I work right by there! I didn’t know there was a cookie truck! I went to the farmers market by south station on the greenway yesterday. It’s there every tues/thurs.
sounds like such a relaxing evening, enjoy!
If we were the same size, I would suggest you donate your shorts to me š I love them!
Love the shorts – keep ’em!
Donate them or hem them a few inches. That is too funny that you asked because I was looking at the pic and thinking those shorts are not very flattering on your cute figure!
I think they are cute! Keep ’em!
Keep them! I have shorts like that and I love them sometimes. If you golf, they are perfect for golfing. Just a thought!
Keep ’em! They look super cute. Also, you’re making me want to be my own boss!
Keep them!
I got a cookie today as well thanks to your heads up!
Cookie caravan and meeting friends/readers…sounds like a perfect day to me! š
Keep them! Great for days when it isn’t really hot outside.
i waited til last night to watch the oprah finale by myself…
are your shorts comfy? do you feel good in them? that’s all that matters!!!
The cookies are such a nice touch!! My aunt and I stayed at a double tree for a girls weekend when we went to Napa and were pleasantly surprised when they whipped out warm chocolate chip cookies!! YUMMY!
I think the shorts look great on you! And I love half days…I am a supply teacher so I occasionally get half days…the pay’s not as good, but you can’t beat all the stuff you get done! š
Donate those shorts!!!! Or keep them until you are 50 years old! You’re too young and beautiful–show off those legs!
Shorts are adorable, what’s the issue?
Haven’t been there in so long, my friends and I would take the T to Quincy Market and run around that big plaza, yes, we were 13 and seeing that brought back so many memories.
I watched the Oprah finale last night and surprisingly I didn’t cry but I did get choked up. It sort of ruined it when my husband looked at me and said “wait, are you crying?” I guess he just doesn’t get it! I mean, Oprah’s been around almost my entire life! Geez!
I used to work at Channel 7 right around the corner from Kinsale! I LOVED that place. Too bad I was making $7/hour and could barely afford it at the time. hee hee. They have amazing food over there!
Why isn’t there a line at the cookie place? Hello Boston! Free Cookies! I thought for sure they’d be a line!
I have some shorts like that too. They look fine on you. And they’re super comfy. Keep em’ for the summer. š
@Kelley: The Cookie CAREavan people were really efficient, so no lines!
I like longer shorts like that — when you sit down your legs won’t stick to the chair!
Half days are the best!
There’s a Kinsale pub in NYC too. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and a Magners there on Wednesday night. So yummy!
The shorts look cute on you, I’d keep them.
Donate! You can rock short(er) shorts!
Yea! Go Bruins…Lucky you are in Boston…eat more cookies and only drink Sam Adams!
I’m so jealous you saw the Oprah finale- can’t wait till they play it here! I’ve already decided that when my own company is up & running (still just an idea in my idea though so a long way to go), half-day Fridays are going to be mandatory!
Oh I want a cookie now too!
I say keep the shorts. I have a longer pair and I love ’em š
I am heading to Ireland on Sunday, so this post definitely is getting me excited..that and the cookies.
I like the shorts, you can dress them up or down
I hope you enjoyed your cookie!
Keep the shorts! š
It’s helpful to have an instinctive nose for cookies, isn’t it? š
I was going to come but we ran out of time. Hope the cookies were awesome!
Fun way to get your cookie fix on a Friday! Keep the shorts, I really like them!
Donate those shorts Tina. Your legs deserve shorter š
Weird question, but where did you park when you went to Kinsale? Or did you take the red line?
@MelissaNibbles: I parked in Southie and took the Red line downtown. My friend found metered parking down there, but I didn’t want to risk it.
@Tina: Thanks. I prefer driving in because the T is always a pain in the butt. I’m always looking for parking secrets.
since you asked, i’d say donate and go shorter.
but i do like lynn’s comment, above: if YOU like them, and they’re comfy, rock ’em!
I still haven’t seen the Oprah finale… I’m saving it for a day when I need some inspiration….
Keep them!
I say donate — with all of your running you should show off those strong legs!
I like the shorts:-) What a fun afternoon and great way to start the weekend!
I say keep the shorts! You could definitely rock shorter shorts, but it’s also nice to have a longer pair for situations where short ones aren’t appropriate. š
Donate. Those shorts are nowhere near as cute as you are! With legs like yours you should be wearing much shorter shorts to show ’em off and make them look nice and long. That length would stumpify a supermodel!
Keep em girl!!! They are super cute and stylish I think! š
I think the shorts are cute, but if I had your body, I’d wear shorter ones. š
Glad you had a nice half-day!
Keep them! Super cute.
Show off your legs!!!! Donate the shorts š
I just got back from Ireland and actually visited Kinsale. Cute, beautiful town! The restaurant sounds good too š
I say keep the shorts. They look good on you.
I am currently in Boston and visiting from California. Since I have been reading your blog daily, I was able to see both posts mentioning the cookie caravan, and I dragged four other visitors from CA to go find the truck! The cookies were yummy, thanks for the tip!!
GAH! I have been trying to find somewhere online that has O’s last episode.
half day; whole weekend (+some extra)
