You can thank my husband for the cheesy post title! 😉

Over breakfast this morning, Mal and I created a very ambitious To Do list for the day. We’re both running the Run to Remember tomorrow and then hosting a birthday party/beer tasting/barbeque at our house. Needless to say, we had a lot to do in preparation for tomorrow’s events.

Like usual, Mal and I divided and conquered:

Mal’s To Do List:

  • Buy mulch at Lowe’s
  • Mulch yard
  • Trim hedges
  • Mow front yard
  • Mow backyard
  • Take Murphy to the dog park
  • Pick up race packet

Tina’s To Do List:

  • Clean house from top to bottom
  • Change bedding
  • Laundry
  • Sweep back porch
  • Wash patio furniture
  • Go grocery shopping for BBQ
  • Pick up race packet

For breakfast, I whipped up a batch of my favorite pancakes while Mal ran out to buy us a couple of iced coffees from Marylou’s.

Check out our new reusable mugs!!!

I always felt so wasteful going to Marylou’s and using their plastic cups, so now my new mug makes me feel better about my little Marylou’s habit.

After breakfast, Mal and I got right to work on our To Do list. Mal tackled the tasks on the outside of the house while I worked mostly inside.

Four hours later, my stomach started to growl. At this point, it was getting pretty late in the day, and we still needed to pick up our race packets before the expo closed.

I needed food ASAP, so I made a quick egg white sandwich on a Sandwich Thin with Laughing Cow cheese spread on one half. I also grabbed a huge handful of cherries on my way out the door to the expo.

Mal and I still had a few things left on our To Do List, so we didn’t spend much time at the expo.

We picked up our race packets and t-shirts and then checked out a few of the vendors.

While wandering around, I bumped into a CNC reader, who is running the R2R tomorrow too. Say ”˜hi’ to Tessa!

With our race goodies in hand, Mal and I were off to the dog park and grocery store.

On the car ride, I ate a mini Lemon Bar Larabar that I snagged at the expo.

Mal took Murphy to the dog park, so he could run off some of his pent-up pug energy. Meanwhile, I went to the grocery store to buy everything we needed for tomorrow’s get-together. Divide and conquer, baby.

By the time we got home, it was dinnertime. Mal and I were both famished after running around all day, so we decided to go out to dinner at Sibling Rivalry in the South End.

As soon as the bread basket arrived at our table, Mal and I dug right in. I ate three pieces in about 30 seconds!

After looking over the menu, I decided to order the Crabmeat Ravioli appetizer as my entrée. Restaurant appetizers are typically massive, so that amount of food is usually enough for me. Well, our server informed me that the appetizer portion only included two ravioli. Clearly, this wouldn’t do, so I added a side of Chickpea Fries to my order.

The Chickpea Fries were mashed chickpeas mixed with milk and cut into “Jenga blocks” and deep fried. They sounded fantastic, but they were pretty bland and super mushy inside. Boo.

When the Crabmeat Ravioli arrived, the portion didn’t seem all that small. It turns out that it wasn’t the appetizer after all. It was the Crabmeat Ravioli entrée, which was twice as expensive! Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this until the bill came. I thought about complaining, but I really liked the dish and ate the whole thing, so I didn’t think it was right to put up a stink about it.

The Homemade Crabmeat Ravoli were served with fava beans, English peas, pea tendrils, and a Chervile-chive butter sauce. Mmm! Perfect for carb loading!

GAH! Run to Remember in the morning! Wish me luck! I’m going to need it for this race!
