Quinn and I had quite the busy day together. It was all fun stuff, but we were busy, busy, busy!
After Quinn’s morning nap, we ran some errands and then took Murphy to the park, so we all could get a little exercise and enjoy the nice Spring weather. Related: We finally have leaves on the trees!
It was a beautiful morning for a park adventure, so we walked for quite awhile.
At one point, we stopped at a picnic table to eat lunch. (I packed a bunch of goodies for the two of us.) Even Murphy joined in with some “dirt pretzels.” Lucky him.
Speaking of dirt… the pug went for a dip in the swamp water. He smelled awesome after that. Ick.
After the park, we swung home to drop off Murphy, regrouped, and then went to My Gym for an afternoon class. As always, it was a total blast.
Zip line!
When we got home, we attempted an afternoon nap, but it just wasn’t happening, so we played until Dad got home.
Meanwhile, I snacked on some dark chocolate coconut Gluten Free Bites that the company sent me to sample. They are delicious (seriously, the bag is just about gone), and they are high in protein, vegan, and free of gluten, dairy, soy, and GMOs. Mmm!
Once Dad got home, we headed out again for dinner at the Abington Ale House. It was such a nice evening, we decided to go out.
I ordered the turkey club on Texas Toast, which I forgot how much I liked. I also ordered sweet potato fries on the side and shared them with Quinn.
Questions of the Day
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being insanely busy), how busy was your Hump Day?
What’s your go-to sandwich order?
Do you like Texas Toast?

Yesterday wasn’t bad but today is going to be insane! Those sweet potato fries –> HOLY COW!! YUM!
Yesterday was an eight, my husband has his MBA class on Wednesday evenings so I am with our son all day. And he certainly keeps me busy! Turkey sandwiches with avocado, bacon and tomato on rye are my favorite!
My day was pretty busy as well. Which also resulted in eating out. Still learning to adjust to having two kids under 2!
Go to sandwhich order: can I have it wrapped in lettuce and bacon instead of bread?
Yesterday was relatively quiet and low key. My first day back to work after being sick! Quinn’s hair cracks me up!
About 5…we had a long weekend here so I’m all over the place, I kept thinking it was Thursday! Those fries look awesome!
baby zip line?!?!? that is the cutest and coolest thing ever!! william would love that!! he loves doing “airplane” and zooming around!!!!!! and yes i like texas toast but rarely eat it just because… well…. it’s soaked in butter lol
Looks like such a fun day! My favorite sandwich since I’ve been young, is a classic grilled cheese sandwich and to answer your other question, I’ve always loved to have grilled cheese actually ON Texas toast! Yum!
This whole week hasn’t been busy, but I have been outside a lot for walks and runs! It is already getting a little too hot for my liking in Virginia, which is why I never complain about cold winters:)
I just love Quinn’s pug shirt!
Can we all agree that life is a little better when Texas Toast is involved? I think we can.
Yessssssssss!
The baby ziplining is too cute (and who knew that existed?!). My go-to sandwich order is usually turkey, provolone, lettuce, and tomato on a whole wheat wrap. Or a turkey club! I’ve only had Texas Toast once or twice but you can’t really go wrong with buttery bread.
Oh my goodness, Quinn is so adorable!!!!!!!!! I look forward to your blog everyday. My hump day was dealing with my 17 year old daughter who’s 1st boyfriend just cheated on her – 1st heartbreak is horrible not to mention that social media is treated like a diary for kids these days. Ugh.
My go to sandwiches are club houses and reubens (sp I’m a terrible speller). Love them both.
That’s horrible. Social media is a tough thing, especially for stuff like that. I hope she’s feeling better soon.
I’m so jealous of your My Gym! There’s none near by us, only 30 miles away which is a real bummer. Looks like you guys had a great time!
Yesterday, my busy level was about a 3, which was AMAZING after coming home from a long vacation! Even on “vacation” I was up every day early and out all day exploring Europe. It felt good to have nothing on the agenda after work but relaxing and walking my dog!
Go to sandwich can have anything as long as it includes avocado and bacon š
Those sweet potato fries look like everyyything, oh my goodness, drooling.
The weather has been amazing in my neck of the woods, so we’ve been getting out for family walks a lot these days!
My hump day business was about 6. Not too horrible.
Yesterday was a five on the busy scale… busy early and then calmed down quite a bit š Your fries look like perfection and now I’m totally craving sweet potato fries. My go-to sandwich order is grilled chicken with BBQ sauce and melted cheddar – bonus if I can get caramelized onions or mushrooms.
I love GFB!! They are so awesome and they are always popping up on my blog. I love the bars the most and the toasted almond cranberry is the most delicious thing ever.
That is one absurdly cute baby. I love seeing your pics of him- he’s adorable!
Oh man before going GF, the texas toast turkey club at AAH was my favorite!! And the buffalo chicken dip… yuuuuummmmmm
Loving the weather in Mass lately!! That park looks so much fun. My dog, Oliver always wants to go in the water and then smells horrrrible afterwards! Then of course he wants to sit on my lap in the car:)
He’s so stinkin’ cute! How’s he doing when you go out to eat? Mine’s turning into Mission Impossible.
He’s usually pretty good as long as he has food in front of him!
My Gym looks like so much fun!
Yesterday was a 6, not horrible at all considering the day before was closer to a 9!
My go to sandwich is really not a sandwich, it’s a buffalo chicken wrap. But lately I’ve really been into roast beef with mustard. And I love texas toast, just never think to buy it!
I am going to have to see if there is a My Gym close to me! It looks so fun. Yesterday was pretty slow at work but we headed out to meet our church small group after work, so that made the day a little more enjoyable.
My go-to sandwich is turkey on whole wheat with spinach, lettuce, avocado, pepper jack cheese, jalapeno, and onion. Yum!
Mmmm we had sweet potato fries Tuesday night! They are just the best! That gym looks like a BLAST! I would love to take my little nephew to someplace like that and watch him play!
Sounds like a fun, but busy day! Quinn seems so chill and content – what a happy boy! Our Wednesday wasn’t all that busy, but our Tuesday was craziness so it was nice to have a little bit more of a mellow, productive day at home yesterday. Question: Where’d you get the rug in Quinn’s room? And/or do you have another recommendation as to where to buy affordable floor rugs?
It’s from IKEA. I actually think they still sell it, and it was pretty inexpensive. Wayfair also has affordable rugs!
Q is just so cute, we love My Gym too, is always fun for kids!!
My favorite sandwich to order is a short rib horseradish with French onion dipping sauce, its amazing!
Yes the gluten free bites are awesome – we have them in our app! The bars they make are delicious as well!
Agreed! Love the bars too!
Oh Quinn…he looks so tired! Does he nap on daycare days?
Yep, he usually takes 2-3 at daycare.
@Tina:
Wow! What a difference! I hope you can get him on that schedule on your home days…clearly he needs the sleep!
Why do you think he needs sleep? He has the same nap schedule at home as daycare. He actually sleeps better at home!
Murphy is so cute. I miss hearing more about him!
I love a good club sandwich, but roasted veggie is also one of my favorites.
Our Wednesday’s are always crazy; I have my weekly physical therapy appointment and it is always such an ordeal coordinating the child care.
I have no idea why I have never followed your blog. Hi, I’m Lauren. You’re fun and I like to read your posts! š Cute pug!
Well, hello! Welcome to CNC!
Yesterday was great! We had a dinner party with friends and it was so much fun. Today isn’t going to be awesome. I have to work until 8 tonight. Womp womp womp.
Tina, those curtains in Quinn’s room, where did you get them? I love them!
They’re from West Elm. They’re actually shower curtains!
The picture of Quinn on the zipline is so cute! š
That meal at dinner though!! ON POINT. Man, that looks amazing right now!
Quinn is so dang cute!
