I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.


An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Most of us know that it’s never a good idea to drink on an empty stomach. Bad things can happen. Unfortunately, I know this from firsthand experience. 😳 So, before going to a 3-hour beer tasting this afternoon, I figured that I should have a little something in my stomach.

I started with a bowl of Siggi’s yogurt + Kashi cereal + trail mix. Lots of goodies to keep me satisfied.


A little while later, I munched on a handful of pitted dates, which are basically like candy to me!


Off to taste, like, a million beers! :mrgreen:

  1. Stuff the dates with nut butter…so amazing!

    Umm…u have a nut butter problem? Well it is now 1 pm and i have already consumed 4 TBSP of nut butter and 1/2 cup nuts and seeds…yeah, and those were just additions to other foods etc…and the day is just beginning!

  2. Protein, carbs, and dessert – and all healthy to boot – if that doesn’t stave off cavorting on tables with one’s shirt off, I don’t know what could! πŸ˜› Enjoy yourself!

  3. I love dates too! I feel like they are such a treat, but a healthy one that I can have on any given day πŸ™‚ I wish I were going to a beer tasting! Instead I have to work. Hey, since you and Mal like good beer you should make the trip up to Portsmouth to go to the Portsmouth Brewery (if you haven’t been there yet!). My husband works there and they have the best beer around. They don’t distribute it, it’s all small batches just for their brewpub, and it is fabulous. You can get growlers and bottles to go πŸ™‚

  4. My husband saw the title of this post and IMMEDIATELY was interested! This is the guy who *occasionally* is know to drink a beer while lifting with his buddy… boys will be boys!

  5. I’m one of the few who doesn’t like dates anymore- I used to eat them in my early 20’s, but damn, they are sooooo sweet- too much sugar for me. Plus, there’s the roach resemblance πŸ˜›
