Hi, guys! Just a quickie post because Mal and I are having guests over for dinner. We’re planning to grill and drink some of the fun beers that we bought at the beer tasting this afternoon, so this recap is going to be more of a show and tell post. I hope ya don’t mind! š
This afternoon, I attended a beer tasting event at Gordon’s Wine and Liquors called “3 Hours of Sour Power,” which featured a variety of sour beers. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon and celebrate the beginning of spring. The event was a walk-around tasting, similar to the Black Beer Affair, so we tried a whole bunch of beers at our leisure.
There were SO MANY interesting fruity and sour beers to try! I ended up trying about half of them.
Marie and me.
The beer reps were so knowledgeable about what they were pouring for us. I think we all learned quite a lot!
At the event, I ran into a couple of Boston-area bloggers: Jen of Healthy Laps!
And Susie of We Are Not Martha! I love both of these ladies!
All in all, the 3 Hours of Sour Power event was a really great time. I tried a ton of new beers and even bought a couple of my favorites to enjoy this evening.
Sorry for the limited commentary on this post. I have guests to entertain!
See ya for dinner!

Looks like it was a lot of fun!
I could definitely use a beer tasting/tutorial. I am so NOT in the know. Looks fun as always!
what a fun day! you seem like such a fun person, willing to try everything š i admire your balance..
Hey Tina I know you are busy but when I try to buy the MyPressi Twist using the code “IceCoffee” it says “We’re sorry you cannot purchase this product with a coupon.” I really would like to buy it on sale so let me know what I am doing wrong! Thanks so much š
How fun to live in a bigger area where you can just run into bloggers. Fun!
That looks awesome!
Okay, right now I don’t care what beer I have, I just want beer poured into a wine-type glass! It looks so much more… feminine? I don’t know. I just love the look of it!
I love beer tastings! The store in Brookline that belongs to the Publick House people has all of the glassware, and I wish we had the room to buy special glasses for every beer š
Ooh I hate beer – that does not look like a good 3hrs to me!!
That’s funny that you ran into fellow bloggers, looks like a great time.

Beer is not my thing but it looks like it was a really fun event!

My bf looooves sour beer! He would have loved this event š
Looks like an absolute blast. Not sure if I ever had sour beer!
You do beer tastings a lot–would you rather do a beer or a wine tasting?
I feel like I wouldn’t enjoy a beer tasting since I don’t really like beer–but maybe I just don’t like the way I feel when I drink TOO much… hm
that beer tasting looks like an awesome time. I would LOOOOVEEE to find a beer tasting near me how do you go about doing this???
@Kelly – Local Foodie Fight: Either! š
@Jen: I talked to the OpenSky team and the code should work now. (I also emailed you.)
Tina– my mom LOVED the pictures of the wedding and rehearsal dinner. You made all the food look as good as it was! I will totally split a bottle of the Duchesse with you the next time we’re home. Greg thinks it’s a little gross, but I am in love with it. So good!
I usually don’t like the taste of beer (even though I lived 6 months in Germany and tried several kinds of beer) but those fruity ones sound delicious š
Hi Tina! Your blog was recommended to me by someone I met where I work after we found out we read a lot of the same blogs! I am really enjoying reading it š I wish I knew this beer tasting was going on at Gordon’s… I live right around the corner! Looks like it was fun!
cute pictures of you and the girls!
