Hello and good morning!
I had quite a marvelous Monday yesterday… It started with a delicious breakfast of eggs, potatoes with buffalo sauce, a clementine, and iced coffee with Trader Joe’s coconut milk creamer, which is quite tasty!
After breakfast, I got my sweat on at KFIT. I finished “Bubble” in 15:07 and used #95 pounds for the Front Squats on the final round. (The 9:30 class was bumping, so there was a shortage of plates when it came to the last set of Front Squats. I couldn’t make #85 happen, so Kerrie told me to use #95 instead, followed by: “You’ll be fine.” And I was. I’m so glad she pushed me!)
While I was working out, Murphy was busy crushing pillows on our bed. I’m not sure if you knew this, but in addition to Therapy Dog, Murphy is also a “Professional Pillow Crusher.” Clearly.
When I got home, I quickly showered and got ready for a day date with Mal. (Since Quinn arrived, we’re averaging one date every two months, which definitely needs to change!) After I got dressed, I tried out my new hairdryer, which was a Christmas present from Quinn. (Although, I’m pretty sure Mal helped him with the necessary research.) Verdict: I LOVE IT!!! It dried my sopping-wet hair in less than 10 minutes and it came out so smooth and straight. And, truthfully, I wasn’t even trying when I was drying my hair. I didn’t dry it in sections or anything like that. I rushed through it because I was starving, but it still turned out really great. BEST HAIRDRYER EVER!
Once I was ready, Mal and I drove to Lincoln in South Boston for lunch.
Woohoo! DAY DATE! It was something to celebrate, so I ordered a beer (Rogue Dead Guy Ale – one of my favorites).
For lunch, I ordered the sliders.
And butternut squash bisque.
Both were excellent.
Mal and I had such a nice time at lunch. It was so fun just sitting at the bar, chatting, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. I missed him!
The bartender was super friendly and gave us all sort of samples of his favorite beers, which, of course, was a blast to try together. The bartender also gave us his honest review of the menu and wasn’t afraid to tell us what wasn’t good. Haha! Lincoln is definitely a great place.
After lunch, Mal and I ran all sorts of errands before reuniting with our favorite little person.
That smile! I love it so much.
Question of the Day
What’s the best day date you’ve ever been on?
