Good morning!
Another summer weekend is in the books and, boy, it was a great one!
Friday night was pretty low-key. Mal went out with some friends, so after I put Quinn to bed, I whipped up a quick dinner for myself (Sweet & Sour Chicken with broccoli).
And spent the rest of the evening watching Real Housewives of New York City and shopping online. (I also enjoyed a dark chocolate Mighty Muffin and some lemonade.)
I spent nearly two hours on thredUP, but I scored some awesome stuff.
Bright and early on Saturday morning, I met my friend Marisa for 7 miles, which was my long run for the week. Half marathon training has officially begun!
Post-run meal: Breakfast potatoes + avocado + eggs + ketchup + Sriracha.
Quinn went down for his morning nap shortly after that, so Mal and I tagged teamed house projects. (Our house is still in shambles, but it’s slowly coming along.)
When Quinn woke up from his nap, he liked what he saw!
After that, we headed to a surprise birthday party, where I enjoyed a couple of Dark ‘N Stormys from a can, which were actually quite tasty over ice.
Party fun!
Sunday morning started with Mal’s amazing, cake-like pancakes with fresh blueberries.
And bacon!
After breakfast, we drove to Funny Farm, so I grabbed a Samoa iced coffee (it tasted like the Girl Scout cookies!) at Gourmet Donuts. It was spectacular.
That afternoon, I enjoyed a massage at Muscle Medics, where I met a therapy dog, who was certified by the same organization as Murphy. She even wore a similar jacket. And, of course, we were instant friends.
After my massage, I headed over to our friends’ house for some drinks, food, and pool action.
It was a wonderful way to end the weekend.
Question of the Day

P.S. Today is the final day to enter to win a $100 VISA gift card. I will pick a winner tomorrow morning!
I LOVE summer weekends because they are spent outdoors and in the water! My two happy places!!!
They’re filled with days spent at the lake and nights under the stars with great BBQ and cocktails.
This sounds like the perfect summer weekend! I love summer weekends because they are spent outside!
I love summer weekends because they are filled with family and friends and seem to stretch on so long!
Summer weekends are seriously the best! I spent mine having a leisurely lunch with the Hubs while someone else watched the baby and then chilling by the pool.
because we spend lots of time outside!
The weather is warm and I can swim and tan every day 🙂
I Love summer weekends because Boston has Italian festivals on the weekends and I had a fried Calzone last night. OMG!
What a fun weekend and those pancakes! You’re making me crave some right now. I love summer weekends because it means pool time, BBQ and spending time with friends.
You look *amazing* Tina! I love summer weekends because it’s so fun to just do whatever I feel like 🙂
I love summer weekends because they usually mean spending a lot of time with family and friends and enjoying the sun.
They’re fun, but we did a TON of work to our house this weekend so I was glad to get a bunch of stuff done!
That spiked seltzer looks amazing! I have slight seltzer addiction. I drink probably 2 bottles of Polar a day.
It’s so good!!
What weather is it that you run outside in? I can’t do anything hotter than 17 I find or my run is somehow compromised. So how do you do it?
I love summer weekends because we can all (including the pup!) get out and enjoy time together!
I love summer weekends because there’s always so much to do! Summer is my favorite season so I’m always happy and love it 🙂 Have a great week Tina!
Ha, you know you’re a mom when you spend 2 hours shopping and it’s all for the kiddo! Baby clothes are the cutest, though. I like buying them and I don’t even have kids (But I like almost all shopping….).
So jealous of your abs!
I love summer weekends because…we’ve had NO plans all summer! Aside from a few get togethers here and there, we’ve been hanging out as a family of three for the most part and loving every second. Glad to see you’re enjoying it too!
Alcoholic seltzer?! How did I not know about this?! 😀
I love everything about summer!
Quick heads up that we know 2 couples who have dislocated their toddlers’ shoulders / elbows from swinging them like that! Had to take their kids to the ER to have them popped back in – one couple had to cut short their family Christmas card photo when it happened. This isn’t meant to be a criticism at all, and we always swung our kids like that before talking to them. Just passing along the info since apparently those injuries are pretty common.
@Lauren: yeah this happened to my son too, specifically “nursemaid’s elbow.” Now I’m super careful about not pulling on him from below his elbow. Just something to be aware of. Apparently some kids are prone to it.
Wonderful nights with friends, a fire, some tasty beverages and lots of laughs!
Whoa…I did a double-take when I looked at the picture of breakfast and thought all that red was Siracha. For a minute there, I thought, “Dude, she is HARD CORE!”:)
I love summer weekends because they involve lots of pool time and NO hockey!! 😉
Being able to soak up quality time with my husband outside of his busy work schedule is priceless, and cannot be beat!!
I love summer weekends because they are spent relaxing in the sun with awesome people! Looks like a fun-filled weekend for your little family. So cute!
I got a LOT of use out of the Janie and Jack stuff that I bought. It’s one of the few mid-range/higher end childrens’ stores worth the cost.
Just curious- what half are you running? I am doing the BAA one in early October and I’m slacking big time. Can’t seem to get back into my running groove…
South Shore Half!
How do I make samoa ice coffee at home?! 😀 It sounds too delicious to not have in my life. You’re an ice coffee genius – I wouldn’t be surprised if you knew how to recreate it? 😀
I love summer weekends because the days are longer and the sunshine makes everything better!
love summer weekends… because I work at my second job all day both days? womp womp. I’m excited for my vacation in two weeks so that I can enjoy some summer time heheh.
I LOVE SUMMER WEEKENDS because, there is no time. Life slows down and you are surrounded by family and friends.
Love summer weekend because I get to slow down, work on my blog, and spend time with my husband 🙂
Love those pictures of Mal and Quinn!
I spy Murphy! So glad he got to partake in the fun weekend adventures 🙂
They remind us to relax, have fun and enjoy life! As a teacher, I am very much a planner and in the summer I tend to “let it be” and “let it happen.” It’s a great feeling!
I love Summer Weekends that include fresh air and friends! I know the next few weekends will be crazy due to the move but i’m trying to take it one hour at a time. 🙂
Hot mom alert! Lookin’ good! What a fabulous weekend you guys had!!
That’s so awesome that you are doing a half! Thanks for always inspiring me to get my butt in gear with my workouts! 😉
I love summer weekends because I am out and about all day and night doing whatever with family and friends.
Hey Tina!
I’m loving all these cute family blog posts. Ya’ll look so good together. Quinn is adorable. I’ve been following your blog for a while, and when you announced your pregnancy I was so excited for you. Witnessing Quinn grow up and all the moments you share is so precious.
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of early learning or are interested in educational entertainment for Quinn, but I just wanted to mention some products that I love.
Every time I see Quinn I just keep thinking he might enjoy these sooo… I though I’d tell you about it. Check out monkisee.com whenever you get a chance.
They’ve created so many DVDs that are just awesome. They’re educational, but they make learning fun for babies. If Quinn likes monkeys, then I think he’ll love the MonkiSee products. Anyway… just wanted to throw that out there.
Keep up the awesome posts and God bless you! 🙂
Thanks for the recommendations!!
WHERE did you get that TV stand?! We are looking for one EXACTLY like this with the real wood or real wood look!!!
It’s from Jordan’s! 🙂
I love summer weekends for grilling and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
Gosh, your abs. I’ll never stop being envious of your 6-pack!
That is a great entertainment center. I have been looking for one I like to no avail. Do you mind sharing where you got it? Thank you!
