It’s an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day in Boston today! I can’t wait to get home and take Murphy for a walk with Mal later this afternoon. Walking around our neighborhood with those two has become one of my favorite leisure activities! š
Lunch
Today’s lunch felt light and healthy. I started with a homemade spinach salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, and two pieces of leftover Tempura Shrimp.
I also had a Siggi’s Orange & Ginger yogurt (my favorite flavor!) and a Cherry Pie Larabar.
And, finally, I enjoyed a juicy pear.
April Grocery Challenge
If you read my other blog, Trading Up Downtown, you know that I recently challenged myself to a Grocery Budget Challenge for the month of April. My goal is to spend less than $300 for the entire month. This might not seem like a lot of money, but remember that it’s only feeding two people. (The $300 does not including dining out.) You can read all of the details here.
So, just for fun, Mal challenged me to spend even less this past week. Before the Red Sox game on Sunday night, we withdrew $40 from our joint checking account. We never ended up spending it, so Mal gave me the cash and challenged me not to spend it all at the grocery store. You can see exactly what I bought and how much I spent over on Trading Up Downtown. š
Trading Up Downtown is basically my “money-saving” blog, so be sure to check out my Money Saving Tips and Deals of the Week for ideas on how to save. I also post my weekly grocery shopping trips on this blog, so you can see exactly what I buy.
Do you stick to a weekly budget for your groceries or do you just “wing it”?
