You guys seemed to enjoy my monthly recap posts, so I decided to continue them in 2013. With that said, here are my top 13 favorite posts from January!
Hello, hello! Yesterday, Murphy and I had our very first Therapy Dog visit and it went really well! Murphy was a natural. I’ll tell ya all about it right after I recap lunch. Lunch Lunch was a turkey burger (cut up) with sautéed mushrooms, peas, and chopped spinach with a big scoop of basil avocado.
After breakfast, Mal and I headed to CrossFit for a (FUN) partner workout. Workout Our coaches wanted us to match up with someone of a different athletic ability (i.e. guy + girl), so Mal and I teamed up for our second ever partner WOD. (Remember our first one together?
Hi, guys! After breakfast yesterday morning, I got my sweat on with this at-home chipper! I forgot to time myself, but this workout took me awhile to finish (maybe 20 minutes?) and it left me a tired, sweaty mess. I took multiple breaks during it to catch my breath and let my muscles recover.
Happy National Pizza Week! I swear there’s a national holiday for just about every food, but this is one I can definitely get behind. I love me some pizza! In honor of National Pizza Week, I had some fun in the kitchen yesterday and created a crust made from mashed sweet potatoes.
Tips for Kipping Pull-Up Success
Hi, friends! How’s your day going? Mine is flying by, and I love that tomorrow is FRIDAY! Hooray! A number of you guys recently asked me about kipping pull-ups, and I saw that some of you had pull-ups as a goal for 2013, so I decided to write a post about what helped me.
Hi, friends! Since I recently reviewed my goals for 2012, I thought I’d blog about my goals for 2013. I’m not much of a resolution person (a year is a long time!), but I’m all about goals! With that said, here are my goals for 2013!
One of my Twitter friends shared this link with me about a pug’s New Year’s Resolutions. It was an adorable post, so I asked Murphy if he had any of his own resolutions for 2013. Here’s what he came up with!

Irrational Fears I Had as a Kid and Still Have Today
Last night, I climbed into bed, got all comfy and cozy, and then noticed that the door to Mal’s closet was open. Most people wouldn’t care (or even notice), but I needed to close it before I could fall asleep. Otherwise, the monsters/zombies/ghosts hiding in there would get me!
Treadmill Roulette: Music Edition
Hey, friends! I have a fun treadmill workout for you! I’ll tell ya all about it right after I recap breakfast. Breakfast I went back to my beloved French Toast Breakfast Scramble this morning, but I switched it up a little by using a small banana, liquid egg whites, and a bunch of fresh blueberries.
Zombie Preparedness: Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse
Last night Mal and I had our first date night of 2013. It’s a goal of ours to take turns each month and plan a special night out together. Mal was supposed to take January, but when I stumbled upon a really fun activity that I knew he would love, I asked to switch months.
Workout Gear I’m Loving Right Now
You guys really liked my Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now post, so I decided to do one for the workout gear that I especially love right now. I’ve also received a few questions asking what I typically wear for CrossFit workouts, so here’s a run down””from head to toe””of what I wear (and love)!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Wellness by the Water Retreat, which is a one-day event with fitness, yoga, nutrition, spa services, and wellness. The organizers, Kendall Covitz and Celeste Platt, actually invited me last year, but I wasn’t able to attend, so I’m so glad Kendall reached out again.
