I have a cool new running/fitness product for you guys! Introducing the Flip Belt!
The Flip Belt is a “single tubular pocket” that carries everything you need for your workouts. Each one has four openings (two in the front + two in the back) where you can easily insert your cell phone, Gu/fuel, keys, ID, cash, etc.
The folks at Flip Belt sent me one to review, so I’ve worn it a number of times on my runs to test it out. I thought nothing could rival my beloved Spibelt, but the Flip Belt is putting it to the test!
What I like best about the Flip Belt is that it doesn’t bounce, which is my #1 gripe with the Spibelt. Once I get going on my runs, I don’t notice my Spibelt bouncing around, but I always think it’s kind of annoying for the first few minutes, especially if I pack it full. The Flip Belt is flat and even all around, so it doesn’t bounce at all.
The Flip Belt can be worn low on your hips or higher near your waist. Both ways are comfortable, but the Flip Belt inched up when I wore it low on my hips during a couple of my runs, so I’ve been wearing it closer to my waist where it doesn’t move around.
The Flip Belt makes it easy to access my iPhone or whatever else I’m carrying (no zippers to fiddle with) during my runs. I worried that small items, such as a key, would pop out, but I just flip the belt inward to lock in my items so they stay put. I haven’t had any issues so far!
I love this product so much, I asked my friends at OpenSky if we could offer a deal on it and they agreed. Check it out! If you’re not following me on OpenSky, be sure to sign up, so you can get the deal. AND here’s a chance for you to WIN a Flip Belt!
To enter: Just leave a comment on this post about your favorite piece of running/workout gear. I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow morning.
Good luck!

Definitely my iPod! I love the idea that I could carry my ipod on my waist instead of my arm! Great concept! I’d love to try this product!
Love the idea of something that doesn’t bounce and no zippers to fiddle with and extra space when you are at races and need to keep you phone keys and chapstick on you. Can’t run without my Burts Bees chapstick
My ipod!
I love my earmuffs, they keep my ears the perfect temp without overheating!
I can’t go out for a run without my Garmin!
I actually have two, my iphone and my yurbuds!
I love my Nathan water bottle holder/strap thingamagig with a small pouch to hold my keys. I hate being thirsty when I run!

the perfect sports bra, which for me is lululemon’s tata tamer.
I have to have my Garmin 405!!
I would say my garmin, for sure!
I love my Garmin watch! This belt would be so useful; I always have the problem of trying to find places to put my essentials while running…. It would be so nice not to have to use places like socks, bras, pinned in hair, (a girl can get creative when needed) and, all sorts of pockets! So excited for this belt!!!
Running would not be the same without my iPhone and the Pandora app!!
HI Tina! Really enjoy your blog. My favorite piece of gear is my IPod Shuffle. I bought one when they first came out…2006, I think? I’ve gone through a dozen pair of earbuds, but the same Shuffle is still going strong.
My favorite piece of running gear is my Garmin forerunner! Can’t run without it!
The flipbelt looks amazing, crossing my fingers to be a lucky winner!
@jaclyn:
Oh, any my favorite running gear is my Bally Thigh trimmer wraps!
My Lucy Propel pants are the BEST! It’s like wearing nothing, but way more comfortable than trying to run naked.
Favorite running gear is my Yurbud headphones, they never fall out.
I love my SpiBelt too but this looks like a great alternative! Also can’t live without my Yurbuds headphones!
It’s a tie between my sneakers and my iPod – both totally necessary for a run of any length…. I would love to try a Flip Belt!
My favorite running accessory would have to be my arm band which holds my iPod!
Favorite running gear is my ipod. OMG, I don’t think my feet move without music.
my iphone!!
I have a beanie for cold weather running that has a hole in the back for my ponytail. So simple, yet so genius!
My ipod!
Too bad I’m not in time for the giveaway
. This looks really interesting and definitely like something I’d like to try out, especially since I’m wanting to make the switch from my old ipod to using my phone as my music source during my workouts. This looks like it would be a great way to hold my phone and other stuff while I’m working out. Thanks for the review!
my fav outdoor running gear is my garmin … just got one this year while training for my first half and it was super helpful.
I have to have my phone when I run. I use it for a gps, music and in case of emergency. I have been using a spibelt for a couple of years now, but looks like it would be less bouncy.
It is definitely my Garmin Forerunner 305. Does the flip belt velcro on?
love my Nike+
Ipod for sure! So hard to be motivated without it.
My favorite piece of workout gear is an Anthropod gear belt, but this may be my new favorite.
@Dani K: Doesn’t seem like my email will show up. ilovepool28@gmail.com
My garmin! I won’t go for a run without knowing how far I’ve gone with it!
lifting gloves
My favorite is my I heart tshirt!
spi belt, but always wanted to see how the flip belt works.
What size are you wearing?
Small.
@Tina:
Thank you. I’m hoping to lose a few inches so I’m struggling on what size to get. :/
