This afternoon, Murphy and I enjoyed a nice, long, 3-mile walk around the neighborhood. By the end, Murphy was really exhausted. (Maybe his breakfast didn’t provide him with enough fuel?)
As soon as we walked into our apartment, Murphy plopped right down on the cool, hardwood floor in the dining room. I thought he might be more comfortable on our comfy, soft bed, so I put him there and turned the fan on him.

I know, I’m such a softie. He’s just so frickin’ cute!
Plus, he loved the cool breeze from the fan. Look at that goofy pug smile!

Dinner
Mal and I kicked-off Happy Hour promptly at 5 o’clock today. We started with a bottle of Pretty Things Baby Tree beer. Baby Tree is “a year-round quadrupel brewed with dried plums… Baby Tree is a Belgian-inspired beer, also inspired by springtime, lambs, Yorkshire and babies-in-trees.” It sounded like a good one to me!

I’ve heard such great things about this beer, so I was really excited to finally give it a try.
The Baby Tree had a smooth, strong, and dark fruit flavor. I could definitely taste the plum.

It was totally a sipping beer.

To go along with the beer, I whipped up a batch of Edamame Guacamole. (I’m obsessed!)

I didn’t have any cilantro in the house, so I nixed it from the recipe this evening. Unfortunately, cilantro is a key ingredient! The guac was still yummy, but it just wasn’t the same without it.

So, I have a “thing” for fun serving bowls. This Double Bowl is one of my favorites. It’s great for foods that compliment one another, like crackers + guacamole, chips + salsa, veggies + hummus, etc. It’s also really heavy-duty. The plastic has some weight to it.
You can purchase this bowl in my shop.

And, here’s another one of my dorky videos. (Seriously, WHY didn’t I blow dry my hair for these videos!?! It looks terrible.
)
VinoVoyage
Only a few people purchased tickets to the VinoVoyage and were entered into the Red Sox ticket raffle, so we’re extending the contest to next week. Just enter ‘CNCvino‘ in the Optional Invite field when you register for tickets. Trust me, this is THE wine event of the year!

Mal and I just ordered a pizza, so we’re going to chill on the couch, catch up with our DVR, and chow down. Life is good.

The double bowl is awesome. I am on a guac kick lately- I was at a mexican restaurant tonight and they added $1 to get the guac and I was cheap and didn’t get it and regretted it the whole time. I should try making my own!
The double bowl would be so perfect for breakfast. I always have oatmeal and yogurt; i could picture the oatmeal in the big bowl and the yogurt in the small
There’s nothing like a beer that reminds its maker of springtime & lambs!
Edamame hummus sounds awesome! Sounds like a fun movie & pizza night
Your dog is just too cute! For a little guy, he sure is game for a big walk!
Love the double bowl….super cute!
“…big snacks and small snacks together…”
hahaha I don’t know why but that made me laugh.
Mmmmm guacamole. I’ve been craving (and eating) guac & salsa since Cinco de Mayo.
Love the puppy picture in the background!
It never fails….Murphy cracks.me.up!!!
Enjoy your evening!

Sounds like an absolutely PERFECT night!
I love serving dishes too. They make somewhat simple snacks seem fancier.
Aw, poor Murphy. You wore him out today!
i’m a huge sucker for labels, so that beer looks amazing to me!
you are wearing me down on the edamame guac – i’m making it this weekend!
Have a good evening, I love that bowl, so cute.
Life IS good…that sounds just like my night! Night in, easy dinner, a couple beers, and some DVR’d tv with the hubby
I love those Murphy photos, he is adorable!
Haha, Murphy is too cute. He sure does look exhausted.
I love that you are enjoying ordering up pizza, sounds like a nice evening to me!
Lamb beer? Wouldn’t be my pick….
Hope you had a wonderful night in with your boys!
Nothing better than a pizza and a night in with the husband on a Friday night.
Our puppies love the air from the vents in the van after a long walk in the park we drive to. So relaxing.
I’m so amazed that such a little dog can make it three miles. He is so funny.
i think it’s so cute when my dog gets so hot he spreads out on the hardwood floor. i also love when he chews on ice cubes!!!
I like the double bowl! It’s so cute
(But Murphy’s even cuter!)
Have a great night! Pizza, mmm.

I am trying the edamame guac for Mama’s Day!
you know i’d do the same thing for a pug smile like that
Guacamole, pizza and beer. Sounds like a great Friday night.
Tina I’m so happy your blog is back and I wanna make that guac sometime next week! Guac plus protein = divine
Edamame guacamole – that sounds fabulous!!
Edamame guacomole???? I have never heard of that, and I am thrilled that I now know it exists! What a wonderful idea!
I like the double bowl you have there! So cute! Perfect for snacks with sauces.
I have found edamame to change the taste in things a lot
poor puppers so tired and sticking his tongue out. I love beers/drinks with good labels. makes them taste much better!

Murphy is SO cute!! Hope you had a fun night!
lol…that beer bottle is cracking me up!
Look at that face!! Murphy is just too adorable for words.
The guac looks fabulous!!
Cilantro is the key ingredient to most deliciousness! I want to love avocado, but sadly I don’t. It just looks like something I should love. I think I would love it with the edamame, but I can’t have that either. Oh well, I will just live that experience through you! I hope you had a great evening with your little family and that you have a great weekend!
Just the thought of a pug chilling in front of a fan makes me giggle. The picture- real laughter. I kind of wish there was a video
Murphy makes me smile daily!!! Thanks for that!
Your dog is awesome.
Im only saying this because I know how much youd appreciate a good chuckle-especially after all the shenanigans youve had to put up with these past few days. Check out the placement of the bowls where the video is paused. Kinda looks like your “girls” are a lil lopped-sided (sp?). Gotta love a little 12 yr. old boy immaturity to start your day right, haha.

Murphy is too cute! Sounds like a great and relaxing day! You deserve it after the stress of GoDaddy.
We had a Pretty Things beer at Russell House last week. So good! I have visited the brewery but before they made that brand.
I just ordered the pink double bowl and the yellow paper boat one- thank you *so* much for posting these. I’ve been looking for unique and brightly colored kitchen stuff lately, and these are perfect !
(But I don’t understand why you aren’t selling *PUGS* in your Open Sky store yet !
Brian LOVES the Pretty Things beers, he’s even met the guy at a couple beer events! He’d be happy to see you guys drinking it haha
Your dog is such a sweetheart! That picture makes me want a pug even more. I love the idea of the double bowl…would definitely make putting foods that ‘go together’ easier to do (oatmeal and fruit, salsa and chips, etc) plus I am so happy your blog is back. I love the cheeriness of it and I look forward to reading more!

Hey bud, for what it’s worth, Pretty Things beer is brewed in Westport, MA, not in Cambridge.
