Today = Greatest Day of the Year!
Mal and I watched the marathon from American Craft on Beacon Street, which is right on the running route.
American Craft had a special Marathon Monday menu, which featured your typical “grillables” (aka hot dogs and hamburgers). Mal ended up ordering a cheeseburger for lunch, but I held out until we went to the Publick House for my favorite paper bag of French fries. 😉
I started my day with a wonderful Bloody Mary. It was super spicy (just the way I like them) with wasabi and hot sauce. Loved it!
I had the best time today!!!!!
So did my handsome husband! 😀
Mal and I also drank a couple of rounds of beer while watching the marathon.
Lead woman coming through!
2:07:52 with about 3 miles to go! Amazing!
Here’s the lead man coming through! He was insanely fast!
Rumor has it that 500,000+ spectators came out to watch the marathon today.
Round #2 of beer!
At the 3 hour mark, the crowds of runners made their way down Beacon Street. This is my favorite part of the day.
So inspirational.
I left the marathon feeling so inspired by these runners. Maybe next year is my year?
