This afternoon, I got to celebrate Cookie Friday with a new friend: Jenny!
Jenny is a student at Harvard and she’s been reading Carrots ‘N’ Cake from almost the very beginning. We met near the John Harvard statue before heading to Hi-Rise Bakery to enjoy a couple of cookies.
Hi-Rise was pretty busy today, but we managed to score a table outside, where we chatted for almost an hour! Jenny and I had a lot in common.
As usual, selecting a cookie at Hi-Rise was tough work! I ended up picking an Oatmeal Coconut Pecan cookie, while Jenny chose a Chocolate Chunk cookie. Delish!
After work today, I’m headed to Newport for the weekend with my hubby. Unfortunately, Murphy isn’t allowed at my in-law’s timeshare, so Auntie Sister is on pug duty for the weekend. She is SO EXCITED for Murphy to come stay with her! I’m going to miss M.P. (Murphy Pug/Piranha) sooooo much, but I know he’ll be in good hands.
Murphy actually has a busy weekend ahead of him– including two family parties and a long walk around the lake. I wonder if he’ll even miss Mom and Dad?
A BIG Thank You
With all of the craziness surrounding my recent West coast trip to BlogHer Food 09, I failed to thank my wonderful sponsor for their support. So, here’s a BIG thank you to NASOYA for sponsoring me! I truly appreciate Nasoya’s support of my foodie/blogger endeavors! The trip couldn’t have been possible without it!
Cookie Madness
The Lazy Baker received such a great response from the recent giveaway on Carrots ‘N’ Cake, they’ve decided to offer readers a 20% discount on all orders over $20 through October 12th. Cool! Just enter the code: carrotsncake20 at check-out.

Have so much fun in Newport. That is my hometown, I miss it! We are stationed in Florida (panhandle) with the Air Force. Have a Dels Lemonade for me =)
I hate spending weekends away from my pups. Don’t worry though, adorable little Murphy will DEFINITELY miss you! Expect major kisses when you see him next!

oh, Murphy is going to have a blast! Every time we go out of town I feel bad leaving my dog but she doesn’t miss us one bit, haha. She is always happy to see us when we get back though
Have a great weekend!
Yum, that cookie sounds awesome!
Have an awesome weekend!
I always think that we miss our animals more than they miss us when the Husband and I are on vacation – but then we pick them up from whoever is babysitting and they are so excited to see us! It’s great. I’m sure Murphy will miss both of you – though it sounds like his first night back home will be a tired one!
