TPC Boston Ladies Golf Clinic
I had a blast “playing” golf this afternoon!
In honor of Women’s Golf Month, three of my girlfriends and I signed up for a “Ladies Clinic” at TPC Boston. The cost of the event was FREE and was open to women of all skill levels. The 3-hour session was perfect for a beginner like me. I learned SO MUCH and it inspired me to take some one-on-one lessons with a golf pro very soon. I’m terrible, but golf is so fun!
On the drive down to TPC Boston, I got excited about my Mapquest directions via iPhone. Best.gadget.ever!
TPC Boston is fancy-schmancy! You should have seen Mal’s face when I told him where I spent the afternoon! He was very jealous!
FYI: TPC stands for Tournament Players Club, a chain of American public and private golf clubs operated by the PGA Tour. I didn’t know any of this until today, which is why I am sharing it with you!
About 75 women attended the golf clinic this afternoon, but I think I was the only one without a bag of clubs.
Luckily, my friends shared with me!
After a little stretching, the women broke into 5 smaller groups to learn some golf fundamentals:
- Full Swing Techniques
- Short Game
- Bunker Play
- Putting Contest
- Course Rules and Etiquette Session
After the clinic, the group enjoyed some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the clubhouse.
At the post-clinic reception, I enjoyed a beer and some cheese and cracker nibbles.
Dinner
After the ladies golf clinic, I arrived home to my wonderful husband cooking dinner for the two of us. Mal is the BEST!
Mal made Simply Asia Spicy Szechwan Noodles to which he added green peppers, snap peas, and red onion, and placed atop a bed of chopped romaine.
The meal was fantastic, but not very spicy as advertised.
I drank a small glass of white wine with dinner.
I’m not sure what my plan is for the night. Mal and I might get together with friends, but my super early morning is starting to catch-up with me. I’d almost rather watch a movie and go to bed early! Sounds like a crazy Saturday night, right?
Enjoy the evening, guys!

Sounds like you had a really fun time! Most of my Saturday nights are spent at home, in bed early. Weekends are for relaxing…and sleeping is definitely relaxing!

Very cool way to spend the day! I know next to nothing about golf, so I could use a lesson like that.
BTW, can you clone Mal for me? I need a husband/chef like that!

I want an iPhone! It’s only recently I’ve been itching to get one, when they first hit markets I wasn’t that interested because friends who got them kept saying how they thought they were so annoying to use…

The golf clinic looked like so much fun! I don’t hear about these things until it’s too late…boo!! I actually suggested going golfing yesterday to Dennis but he laughed at me since he knows I suck…and I don’t have clubs…but ehh, it’s about having fun right??

I could totally use a golf clinic like that – my golf game is pretty terrible.

I had no idea it was women’s golf month but I had just been thinking about taking a lesson or two the other day because I have never played “real” golf before! I must be psychic
