Flogg DAILY Giveaway

April 28, 2009

Attention: Planner people!

You are going to looovvve this product! :-D

As you may know, I track my workouts via pen + planner (as well as on the blog). My method is fine and dandy, but the FLogg DAILY or “Food/Fitness Log” is SO MUCH BETTER!

As many of you know, a number of studies have demonstrated that keeping a personal journal is a valuable way to achieving successful weight loss. By tracking your caloric activity (both calories in & out) on a daily basis, you are providing a working history that will help instill healthy behavior as well as offer insight and motivation for permanent lifestyle changes.

The Flogg DAILY is for the fitness-focused:

  • Track caloric activity daily
  • Gauge your progress on personal assessment pages
  • Reference caloric guides for nutrition and exercise
  • Fit for any diet or fitness program
  • Perfect for training sessions

Using the FLogg DAILY, your meals and workouts are divided equally onto two-pages. This gives you plenty of room to track your calories and exercise for a full three months. I’m fairly lax with my calorie-counting and workouts, so I divided the Flogg journal pages in half and used each one for 2 days instead of 1 to extend the life of my Flogg DAILY. However, if you so desire, you can record practically every single detail about your workout and food choices for the day.

The Flogg DAILY is a nice, little journal. It’s classic style looks just like a regular planner, but its contents are geared toward those interested in living a healthy lifestyle– including a place to gauge your progress and a calorie reference guide for a number of foods and exercises. For me, it has come in handy for planning my workouts for the week and keeping calorie estimates on my diet.

Approximate size of the Flogg DAILY:

I love this quote on one of the pages inside the Flogg DAILY:

The secret to winning is constant, consistent management.

It sort of reminds me of my advice to readers who ask me about losing weight. I often tell them to just “keep truckin‘!” Weight loss doesn’t happen over night and so much of it is about consistency– one bad day won’t hinder your efforts, but you’ve gotta get back on track the very next day. In this sense, the Flogg DAILY is a constant reminder of keeping yourself on track.

In just over a week, the Flogg has proved to be a great tool for me. It didn’t give me any sort of diet-exercise epiphany, but it has forced me to assess my eating and workout habits on a daily basis. I love writing things down and crossing them off my list, so the Flogg journal has been the perfect “companion” for keeping me on track. And, of course, I want to keep the pages full with my written accomplishments and progress. It’s motivating to see all of the work you’ve done!

How to enter the Flogg DAILY Giveaway:

On this post, leave me a comment telling me why you need a Flogg DAILY in your life. On Saturday, May 2, I will pick a winner via the Random Integer Generator and announce them on Sunday when I officially return from my blog hiatus. Trust me, you want a Flogg DAILY!

I need a FLOGG in my life to help me get rid of these last stubbon 7 pounds! I’ve just started running regularly so would be great to keep track of my workouts and see how i’m improving.

I have never heard of a Flogg but I would love one! I log my workouts and what I eat but it’s not very organized! I write it down in small notebooks, on my computer..it’s all over the place!

I would love a Flogg journal just because I think it would be nice to have everything in one place and at your fingertips. I usually write it all down in a spiral notebook but this is more today and happening!

I need a Flogg to track my workouts better. I am really trying to build some more muscle and this would be a great way to track my weight-lifting days!

I would loooove to have a Flogg journal because I constantly struggle to have a good balance between my workouts and my food intake, so it would be great to have the journal to hold me accountable.

I would like a Flogg to keep me accountable and to accurately track my workouts.

I would LOVE a flogg because I have been writing down my meals and calories and workout stats on pieces of paper, and losing them everywhere. I am always on the go so having all of my info together in one portable journal would be fantastic and is necessary.

I could certainly use a replacement for the two spiral notebooks currently being crushed at the bottom of my gym bag – I really want to be tracking my weight lifting better!

I just want to say how much I love your site — I’m new (just the past few weeks — found you through HW) and look forward to reading your posts daily! This Flogg DAILY is just what I have been looking for — I have been tracking my workouts and food in a spiral notebook — it’s messy and overhwelming at times. This all in one, neat, organized system is just what the dr. ordered! Of course it would be great to get one — and, if you pick one of the other lucky gals — I’ll ask for one for my b-day (just 12 days from now). Thanks for the daily inspiration!!

I track my workouts on an excel spreadsheet, but to be able to refer back to previous workouts when I am at the gym would be great and then I know I won’t forget anything when I transfer them.

Thanks

I am the queen of crossing things off my list, but have never been able to keep motivated to do a food/exercise journal. I think a new journal would do the trick!

I would make good use of this planner because I am just graduating from college and headed to flight school. Between flights, studying, and other engagements I need something to help keep me where I need to be and fulfilling all my requirements (and not in trouble with my superiors…gulp!)

After an overload of work the end of my freshman year (when I had successfully taken off a good 20 lbs instead of gaining any freshman 15) I feel like I’ve gotten into a mental rut. Writing it down seems to be the best way for me to stay on track. Having the flogg would be a nice alternative to shuffled post it notes.

Meg April 29, 2009 at 12:53 pm

I need the Flogg because I used to record everything I ate and all my exercises and lost almost 40 pounds. I fell off the wagon with the recording and some of that weight has come back. It’s not totally due to the lack recording my calories in and calories out, but it was due in part to that. I would love to get back into it and teh Flogg would be a great asset!!

Reply

Johanna April 29, 2009 at 12:57 pm

I need the FLOGG because I have been keeping track of my eats for years….mainly on random scraps of paper! I also really need to start keeping track of my fitness. This would be a great tool for me to do both and keep it all together!

Thank you!!

I’m a nerd at heart and always loved my student planners when I was in school. I think the Flogg would be a great grown-up version for helping me stay on track with my healthy eating.

I have always been a journal/planner person. Even with my Blackberry I still love my paper planner. And for me FLOGG would be perfect because I track food, workouts, etc.in various places it would be nice to have it in one spot.

Reply

april April 29, 2009 at 3:50 pm

That is awesome!! i keep track of all that in different places..random notebooks, in my phone, etc and that would make life so much easier!

Reply

Kate April 29, 2009 at 4:51 pm

I would love to this! I currently have my regular planner which I put workout info in AND a separate book for tracking my food. It’d be great to do it in one place PLUS after a 2 year hiatus, I’m finally back into working out so this would be fantastic!

Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I would love this planner for quite a few reasons. I don’t have a daily planner for anything and I am always writing down calories and workouts in the most random spots. I am sure this would help me stay organized and help me on my weight loss journey!

This would be great for me! I also prefer using a pen and paper rather than computer for food tracking. I started with a little composition notebook, but I find myself forgetting or not writing it down everyday because the day before “was similar”.

I just got out of college and started my first “real” job. I am really trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It is a big strech from college and I could use any help!

I love planners of any kind! I tend to be an emotional eater, and writing everything down will help me be less likely to eat with my emotions!

My life runs on planners, but I don’t have one for exercising. I’m really trying to train for a half marathon (ultimately, a full one, but baby steps…). A Flogg would come in so handy! Hope I win! Thanks for always having such great giveaways!

I’m a huge planner, that’s for sure! I usually just enter in my stats on the computer now, but I’m totally an old fashioned girl – I love my pen and paper. I’ve never found a product like this, so now I can get back to my old ways!

I’ve moved 5 times in the past year (school-related) and have been working out w/ whatever access I can get! It would be nice to have an overall view, more month-to-month things, so I can avoid ruts and routines that my body has adapted to.
oh, and I’m obsessed with lists and agendas, etc, and having cool tools to feed that.

thanks!

I would love something to force me even further into telling the truth about what I eat and how much I work out so I can keep it consistent! Ever since I have started my diet, I have been doing great – just keeping a calorie log on my blackberry has been doing great for me, but, this lloks more detailed and as I move into the next phase of my diet, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I would totally love the FLOGG to keep track of all things food and exercise in my life. Writing it down on pen and paper gets old (and time consuming!) fast!

OMG, I would LOOOOOVE this thing – I’m a HUGE planner and list-maker. (My husband teases me that I have lists of lists of lists) … I’m currently using my day planner for logging food/exercise, but then I have no room for my other daily lists! :)

I need this badly! Tried a blog to track all this stuff but I have a hard time logging on and doing it. I am on a computer all day at work and I just don’t want to spend my nights on a computer too!

Liz April 30, 2009 at 8:36 am

I used to have a workout log like GLOGG and it was so helpful in setting goals and pushing myself. I definitely need to get back on the band wagon with challenging workouts.

Reply

Annie April 30, 2009 at 8:38 am

Ahh! I would LOVE a planner like this. You should see my purse at the end of the day with all the post-it notes.

Hannah April 30, 2009 at 8:39 am

I usually just write down the things I eat in a notebook, its gets very confusing sometimes with all different things sticking out-of it, scratchy pen marks etc. I need something to organize my food journals! the FLOGGDaily would be perfecto!

Kath April 30, 2009 at 9:25 am

o man what a great idea!
this would DEF help out and aid me in tracking my meals, energy expended at the gym or work and what not, and help me see what i need to make UP for for what’s lost working out. this is key for my recovery and would probably put a lot in to perspective for me!
pick me pick me!
