I know things are crazy in the world right now, and I hope you are hanging in there. It’s a stressful and anxious time, so first and foremost, I want to validate and acknowledge your fears and concerns with everything that’s going on right now. It’s scary for me too, but we’ll get through it together. I’m doing my best to stay positive and count my blessings, and I hope you are too.
In today’s episode of the Friday 5, I’m sharing 5 happier things unrelated to the craziness going on in our world. I’m trying to carry on as “normal” as possible, if you know what I mean. And, if you’re looking for tips and advice for staying healthy, be sure to head over to Instagram and follow my content there. I’ve been sharing a lot of workouts and motivation!
Beautycounter is offering 10% off sitewide through the end of the month (including all regimens, collections, and bundles). Beautycounter does not offer sitewide sales often, but they wanted to do something to help both clients and consultants (those of us who survive off our small businesses). We all need shampoo, body wash, and the like, so if you’re needing to stock up – shop the sale here.
2. Basement Facelift
It feels so good to finally have our basement project complete! There’s nothing like freshening up a space in your house, right? We painted, took down the ugly cabinets and counter, and got a new weight rack just in time for testing workouts for #STRONGMADESIMPLE. The rack was only $69 and the dumbbells were also super affordable from Amazon Basics (now’s a better time than ever to create a simple home workout space).
…AND AFTER! Simple updates can make a huge difference!
Since we’re hunkering down at home, we’ve been playing a few more games than normal. Exploding Kittens card game so fun to play with Quinn, and it’s hilarious! Quinn seriously cracks up the entire time when we play. It’s like UNO, except there are goats, magical enchiladas and kittens that can kill you. It’s ridiculous and fun for parents too! 🙂
I treated myself to a new pair of Birkenstocks in anticipation of Spring! The Mayari style is so cute, and they’re really comfortable! You can wear them with jeans, shorts, leggings, summer dresses, you name it! More often than not, I buy my shoes from Zappos because you can’t beat the free shipping & returns!
I’m not drinking iced coffee these days – only once in a while for a fun occasion – but I’ve been loving my coffee replacement, Teeccino! I love the vanilla nut flavor! It’s definitely a great option if you’re trying to cut back on caffeine and/or coffee. Tip: The grinds taste so much better than the tea bags – much stronger and more flavor. Just brew the grinds like you would coffee in your coffee pot, but just use fewer grinds.
