Surprisingly, my doctor gave me some good news this morning! After diagnosing me with Iliotibial Band Syndrome and explaining what was going on with my hip, my doctor told me that I could run the race! I’m not going to lie, I was pretty shocked. I honestly thought she was going to tell me not to run, but instead she said to do it! She even said if she was in my shoes, she’d run the race! Of course, my doc told me to stop if my hip started to hurt while running, but hopefully, it will make it all 13.1 miles! I’m psyched to have the green light to run, especially after all of the training time I’ve put in!

Lunch

I ended up being at my doctor’s appointment a lot longer than expected (more on that later), so I ate lunch at my desk in order to catch up with work. I started with a homemade salad topped with walnuts and just a splash of balsamic vinegar that I added this morning (which didn’t make my salad soggy).

After my salad, I dug into a Better Whey Yogurt to which I added Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal. I also ate a dark chocolate Adora disk.

My review of Better Whey: I liked it a lot! I love that the Better Whey Yogurt didn’t have a ton of added sugar and that its flavor wasn’t too, too sweet. I usually like flavored yogurts, but tend to stick with the plain varieties because to avoid all that added sugar. According to the Better Whey website, their yogurts have “30% less sugar than the leading yogurt.”

The Acai Mixed Berrry flavor that I tried had a slightly tangy flavor, a tad artificial, but I liked it! It gave it a zing! And, of course, I liked that this single yogurt container packed-in 15 grams of protein! It actually kept my stomach content all afternoon long. Well, I did end up munching on some grapes around 3:30, but I think I mistook my dehydration for hunger. The juiciness of the grapes was particularly satisfying!

Dinner

When I got home from work, I was starving, but Mal wasn’t home for dinner yet. I snacked on some Kettle Backyard BBQ chips and read some blogs while I waited for him to arrive home.

When I was at my facial last night, my hubby whipped up dinner for himself: cheddar and broccoli “malzone, using a store-bought dough. Lucky for me, there was lots of leftovers. Tonight, dinner took a just a few minutes to reheat in the microwave.

Inside of the calzone: steamed broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, and marinara sauce. Outside of the calzone: garlic powder, seasoned salt, and olive oil.

Calzone + salad = delicious and filling! Love that!

My sweet tooth just kicked in! Off to seek out dessert!

G’ night, friends!
