Hello and happy Sunday!
So, I’ve been quite the slacker this weekend. After Friday night’s festivities, I slept in until 11:00(!!!) the next morning and then nursed a hangover for the rest of the day. I definitely had a little too much fun at my birthday celebration. But, hey, you only turn 30 once! (Well, twice since I plan to celebrate on my actual b-day, too! š )
Saturday
Yesterday afternoon, I went to my sister’s Mexican-themed housewarming party. I was super hungry, but I snacked pretty much all afternoon long. There was a lot of good food!
Taco bar!
Chili with all of the fixings.
Margaritas, which I did not partake in.
Desserts, which I did partake in! š
After my sister’s party, Mal and I headed home. We watched a movie and I went to bed around 9:00 pm. I was exhausted.
Sunday
This morning, Mal, Marie, Dave, and I went to Body Pump at the gym, followed by brunch at the Wheelhouse Diner. I switched things up and went with an egg and cheese “Wheelie” on a toasted English muffin.
And homefries with hot sauce on the side.
I also drank an iced coffee with breakfast.
Mal and I just spent 1.5 hours cleaning our house from top to bottom. Now, I’m heading out to run errands and get ready for the work week. Boy, did this weekend fly by! šÆ

The taco bar looks amazing!! All of the food looks really good.
After late nights I always end up sleeping the day away. I’m glad you enjoyed.
Nice. It’s fun to have a slacker weekend once in awhile. At least you have a clean house!
Thanks to your sister, I’m really craving a taco night now š
btw – will we get a recap of your Lose the Dough for the big 3-0 experience?
That looks like such yummy food at the party! I love Mexican dishes š
Girl – you are NOT a slacker. Hello, it’s your BIRTHDAY! Sleeping it ’til 11:00am is completely appropriate – I plan to do the same. Gah, I wish there was somewhere to take Body Pump around here. Happy Sunday!
Ooh, taco bar! Such a great idea for a party. Man, there are a lot of foods that are great ideas for parties – kebabs/kabobs, fajitas, tacos, maybe even dumplings?!
Your change of breakfast looks great, too! (But I’d be more interested in the desserts and chili at your sister’s party. ;))

I love the lights in the trees in your sister’s backyard! Tacos are such a great “everyone” food because you can personalize them. Such a great party idea!
I went to my first Body Pump class yesterday and am definitely feeling it today. Love being sore. I definitely think I’ll Pump again very soon.
@Ananda: It’s schedule for this week: http://carrotsncake.com/lose-the-dough

The perfect weekend, indeed!! That’s such a fun housewarming!
I’m glad you lived up your birthday! You only turn 30 once. š
Happy Birthday!
slacker doesn’t even begin to describe the procrastination of this household today . . . now we have to go to the grocery store at 2pm, uhhhhhhh the madness!
That cake looks delicious. Its great you have so many Body Pump buddies – I’m jealous š
The homefries look so good! My sister is having a Mexican food theme for Father’s Day. My “job” is to bring salsa and guacomole. I’m looking forward to it after seeing your taco bar!
What was the white glaze-chocolate chips cake? That looked delicious!!
those potatoes look so good! also, the dessert with the chocolate chips? be still my heart!
I love mexican-themed anything. Especially if chips, salsa and guacamole are involved. It immediately goes in my mouth, yum!
Your sister’s housewarming food looks so good, what a spread! I’m glad you had a great time at your birthday, it must be great to be celebrating it twice! I like the look of your breakfast too, a perfect thing to have after a workout. Loving the homefries too!
That party looks so fun! A taco bar is a great idea for a party. I always find the weekend goes faster when I sleep a lot, but your body probably needed the rest, so it’s good you slept in. Hope you enjoy the end of your weekend!
You deserved to sleep in ’till 11:00. We missed you but all understand some recovery time is needed after parties like the one you had! haha You’ve had one eventful weekend!!
I love the taco bar idea! I could even do that at home for dinner!
The fun weekends always go by too fast! Taco bar is my favorite kind of party! Good luck with the errands and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I love the set-up your sister has for the housewarming party. It looks really conducive to conversation and sharing. what a fun weekend!

if slacking is wrong…I don’t wanna be right.
i haven’t had a hangover in forever, thank goodness! but you’re right…you only turn 30 once, so you should definitely have fun š
Tina, I’m curious about the red water bottle in a white mini-jug on the stove in the chili picture… but I can’t even guess what it might be!
Being a slacker is sometimes needed. Happy birthday!
Those desserts look amazing, glad you enjoyed!
