Old House, New House {Photo Dump IX}

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hey, hey! Good morning and happy Monday!

Here’s a special Photo Dump edition: Old House, New House! The first several photos were taken on my iPhone before we moved and the last bunch were taken just last week after we moved into our new house.

Just hanging out at the playground. He actually liked “swinging” this way quite a lot.

Swinging with my boy. Oh, how we are going to miss that playground. It was a 5-minute walk from our old house.

IMG_5193 (768x1024)

Sneaking a sip of Dada’s smoothie. Quinn has really grown to love smoothies!

IMG_5188 (768x1024)

Packing madness! Gah! I’m so glad that’s over and done with!

IMG_5168 (1024x768)

Hummus + rice crackers. This combo is one of my go-to afternoon snacks when I just can’t wait until dinner to eat something.

IMG_5151 (1024x768)

Protein muffin in a cup. These Mighty Muffins from FlapJacked are the bomb. Just add water, nuke for 35 seconds, and you have a warm, protein muffin with probiotics.

Quinn and Murphy hanging out before we started to pack up our house. Check out Murphy’s serious head tilt. We’re pretty sure it’s permanent, but it’s kind of cute, right?

Cobb salads + wine for dinner. This was the first meal we ate on our new back porch.

IMG_5338 (1024x768)

Tohu Sauvignon Blanc. My father-in-law said I would like this wine, and, boy, was he right! I loved it.

IMG_5335 (1024x1024)

Mid-run selfie. Derp. I’m terrible at selfies.

IMG_5424 (960x960)_thumb

I tried Arctic Zero for the first time. I wasn’t crazy about it, but I heard there are much better flavors out there. Salted Caramel is next on my list to try!

Snuggle pug. Murphy loves that we are using “his” couch in our living room until our new one arrives. Doesn’t he look so adorable in this pic?

IMG_5341 (1024x1024)

Having an early-morning “baba” with mom. After a rough night of sleep (molars!), we were both pretty tired.

IMG_5443 (960x960)

Quinn’s new toothbrushes. Mal texted to remind me to buy some right when I was picking them out at CVS, so I snapped a photo to show him that he was in my head. Haha!

Question of the Day

Share something NEW and OLD happening in your life right now!

P.S. Be sure to enter my giveaway to win some of my favorite fitness/healthy living products!

  1. We are transitioning from propane gas to natural gas at our house this week! When we bought our house 2 years ago I was so bummed it was propane heat and so finally we are making the change! So so happy!

Murph is just the sweetest! Love that he and Quinn get along! Our 8 month hold LOVES our little dog but our dog isn’t also happy that he gets chased by this little person and grabbed at. We are currently working on “gentle” and “nice” to the doggy.

    1. I am incredibly jealous. I have a (buried) natural gas pipeline running through my land but we aren’t anywhere even close to getting residential service.

  2. Murphy’s head tilt is adorable! I am so happy he is doing so well!

NEW- I am going to a group exercise conference at the end of this week for work. I cannot wait!
OLD- I am my parents and they still live in the house where I grew up. It is so weird sleeping in my old room, they still have so much of my stuff! I think it may be time to help them get rid of some things.. 🙂 I am also going back to my old yoga studio this week for a class..I missed it so much!

  3. Old- I don’t know if this is really old but I’m getting more used to being pregnant now that I’m 15 weeks and the idea of watching everyone enjoy cocktails is getting a teensy but earlier I suppose 🙂

New- we are on vacation and it’s only day 2!

  4. I’m awful at selfies — I get this. <3

Old — Rewatching LOST. Because it's marvelous.
New — Got a new client and it's lit a fire under my tush work-wise. I've never been so productive and it's leaking into other aspects of life. Definitely not complaining. 🙂

  5. We went to my husband’s family’s camp in Maine (its been in their family since the early 1960’s) so that’s the old and the new is our house is getting painted! New color and a fresh start with some updated landscaping! Can’t wait!

  6. I LOVE New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc! I haven’t tried that brand yet, but it’s definitely on my list. I’m a big fan of Kim Crawford and Sattelite, but any NZ twist-top Sauvignon Blanc is delicious 🙂

  7. Vanilla Maple is one of the best flavors of Arctic Zero in my opinion. The one you tried is one of my least favorites. And that’s very odd since I am usually a chocolate girl when it comes to ice cream.

I don’t eat it often though because I swear it makes me bloat like crazy. Not worth it!

  8. These pics are fun! For sure try the chunky flavors from Arctic Zero–so so much better.

Something old is being pregnant….and hopefully something new will be a newborn in the next few weeks, haha! 🙂

  9. New – going to have to look to move apartments in two short months! Old – back on that marathon training grind : ) Hope you have a fabulous day!

  10. Old: We had our huge family reunion this past weekend and it’s always so awesome to reconnect with my distant cousins and reminisce about when we were kids!
New: We are shopping this week for new trim for all of our downstairs windows…fun stuff, right!?

  11. I’m loving those FlapJacked Mighty Muffins too! I especially love the apple cinnamon one. As for Arctic Zero, I find that I like the fruity flavors the best (strawberry, coconut, orange cream). There’s a few flavors I’m not super fond of though. In my old/new news…we just bought a new SUV! I’m feeling quite spoiled with it. It sure is fun.

  12. I think arctic zero just tastes like a frozen protein shake, but it does do the trick when you need something sweet. Halo Top is similar, but 100000000000000x better than arctic zero. I’ve only tried the lemon cake (my fav) and the strawberry (tastes like a strawberry fruit snack!) and I am obsessed. They carry it at Whole Foods.

  13. It looks like Murphy’s thinking really hard about something with that head tilt. I wonder what it is?
New and old. My new house has a really small refrigerator and my old one had a large one. When my family is here, it’s immediately filled and I can’t buy a single thing. The slot is too small to buy a bigger one though.

  14. Would you please do some more Artic Zero tastings? I’ve always wondered about this (only ever tried Vanilla Maple, it just sort of tasted like barely maple flavored whey protein.) (PS, it’s 102 degrees in the Middle East where I am today, so the thought of it sounds really appealing!)

  15. If you haven’t already, you should try So Delicious’ coconut milk no sugar added ice cream varieties. They just have a few options without sugar, but they are so good and they aren’t sweetened by aspartame or anything nasty like that. I was on the fence about Arctic Zero too. I wanted to like it, but I wasn’t completely sold.

  16. Ok i’m taking your word for the Mighty Muffins – I’ve been on the fence about trying them, but I think its time to pull the trigger. 🙂

In terms of old and new, we just hired two new people for our current (old) location, and we bought a bunch of equipment for our second (new) location that is opening soon!

  17. I just had the Salted Caramel last week and did not like it at all. I took two small bites and I’m thinking I may just throw it out. I tried the Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars, Sea salt Caramel flavor, and loved them. 100 calories per bar.

  18. Flapjacked Double-Chocolate Protein Muffins?! I had no idea … can’t wait to try them! Murphy looks so cute with the head-tilt … almost looks like he poses for the camera. Sweet pug.

  19. Just FYI on the arctic zero….the consistency is weird in every flavor…I found the best way to have it was like soft serve. Put in blender with a little almond milk a couple Splenda ….buzz to your desired smoothness….put a little whippey on it & eat….or you could put fruit in it/on it

  20. I love reading your posts about products and food! I live in Northern Canada in a small town that gets NOTHING cool. You get to try all these awesome foods that we will never get up here! The protein muffin looks amazing! Whenever we would go shopping in the USA I’d be overwhelmed with all the neat stuff. I’d go broke, I swear.

  21. Love your blog! Curious to know how you keep such a beautiful complexion while exercising outdoors. We live in Louisiana and I try to run early- 6:15-6:30 am ish. I’m training for my second half. Whenever I run outside in this humid, hot climate, I always seem to break out. I come home immediately and shower , and even had to go to dermatologist who prescribed an oral and topical med. Only drawback is it increases Sun sensitivity:( which is why I try to run before or just at dawn any advice would be much appreciate d!

  22. I LOVE MURPHY’s head tilt!!! I am pug momma with an old girl who has a tilt now from Vestibulars…and she’s just as fiesty as ever! Murphy is the cutest! I love seeing him!
