Look what Mal brought home today! A Boston Terrier!
I hoped that this little dog was a permanent addition to our family, but it turns out she was off-leash and wandering around the neighborhood. The temperature was in the 90’s this afternoon, so Mal didn’t want her to suffer out in the heat and humidity. Squishy face dogs do not do well in this type of weather.
At first, Murphy was psyched to meet a new doggie friend, but then she growled and snapped at him! Murphy is the sweetest dog ever (very submissive), but he wasn’t thrilledΒ about some random bitch giving him a hard time in his own house. Murphy wasn’t sure what to make of her after that. It’s a good thing she wasn’t staying!
Eventually, we found Maddie’s owners and returned her to them. (We called the phone number listed on her tags.) Apparently, she escaped from the house! Sneaky little devil!
After returning Maddie to her owners, Mal and I cracked open a couple of beers and hung out on the backporch.
We also snacked on some chips and salsa.
And had some fun with Murphy.
Giving Murphy Bunny Fingers never gets old!
Dinner
I ended up eating a ton of chips and salsa, so dinner was sort of small and really random. I had a bowl of leftover whole wheat pasta mixed with ground beef, peas, and black eyed peas and a piece of toast with Garlic Gold and butter on top.
After dinner, I finished off the Pistachio-Apricot Bars. So good!
Heading straight to bed. Good night!

Sometimes random dinners are the best. Mmmm…chips and salsa on the porch sounds like the perfect summer activity. π
“some random bitch” — this made me laugh! and Murphy is totally giving her the stink eye! Hilarious.
This post just made me want to get a Boston Terrier. If I lost my dog, I would freak out!
Aw it’s too bad you couldn’t keep Maddie! But I’m sure Murph wasn’t all that sad about it. Stink eye does its job π
Cute!!!
A few years ago I found a beagle puppy wandering the streets. He jumped right in the car and spent the night with us. Luckily, our dog is a little mama bear, and took him under her, um, paw. We returned the pup to his family the next day, and all was well.
Have a great night!
You honestly get the best Murphy shots ever! Let him know that he’s extremely photogenic. ~.^
It looks so nice in Boston! It has been rainy and dreary here all week. =(
Hahaha “sneaky little devil!”
I had a boston terrier growing up (nicest dog ever). We would let her out and she would disappear. Turns out she memorized what snacks all the businesses had on certain days and would go make her rounds. Since we lived in a small town and everyone knew whose dog she was, she always came home with a belly full of cheese, sausage, and smoked salmon.
We found a stray dog as kids (A beagle) who we desperately wanted to keep and the minute we brought him inside he started snipping at our own dog. She wasn’t a fan. The beagle lasted about 30 minutes.
Glad you found her owners π
The Pistachio-Apricot Bars sound soooo good!
And thank goodness that very adventurous little doggie found its way back to its owners! I bet they were freakin for a bit…but she was under Murphy’s protective watch, no doubt π
Aww what a nice bostie. We have one, and they definitely are curious little pups. Happy you were able to find the family!
hey miss, i feel like i should let you know you are my favorite blogger. i love your light smattering of cuss words every now and then.
Maddie is crafty! Although I love the idea of you having M&M dogs, thank God you found her owners (plus nobody snaps at Murph–cmon–that face of his is just too cute to snap at) I love the bunny ears pic.
Aww… what a cute Boston! They’re one of the most adorable types of dogs.
How come the squishy faced dogs don’t do well in the heat/humidity? Is it breathing problems?
Aww I love Boston terriers! I knew the sweetest one when I was a kid–her name was Patsy:)
Chips and Salsa sound so good right now. I think that is my favorite snack choice!
i found a random cute dog in our hood the night obama won. we hoped we could keep her but she belonged to someone who was too busy celebrating!
Haha. I love the stink eye picture!!
cute little dog. That was good of Mal to bring him in.
This weather is brutal for pups! My little dog (who LOVES the outdoors) still tries to spend all day outside, but she wilts up like a prune after a few minutes. Poor little thing!
Random dinners almost always turn out amazing…..I love when that happens!
So cute! And I can’t wait for the recipe for those yummy sounding bars!
It’s good people like you, that make me hope that if April were to sneak out (again) and we didn’t get her, that someone else would. Phew! At least the temperature just broke! Our night walk was so much nicer!
I love random dinners. And chips and salsa. And beer. Basically, I love everything about this post. You guys did your good deed for the day!
My dinners are usually pretty random. A lot of times, I just throw a bunch of ingredients together or just put a little bit of this and little bit of that on my plate. π
The look Murhpy is giving Maddie is priceless!!! I’m glad you found her home but I bet her and Murphy would’ve been friends in no time π
Oh my gosh, the bunny ears picture is my favorite!!! Murphy pics never get old!
Hahah βΛsome random bitch’–> call me immature but that had me crackin’ up
Hi Tina!
I got your sticker in the mail today and was super stoked! It’s awesome. I haven’t decided where to put it yet but it put a smile on my face on an otherwise less than stellar day.
Thank you so much! π
Aw, that would have been so exciting to get another dog!
Glad you were able to reunite the dog with her owners…. for both hers and Murphy’s sakes π
How awesome of Mal to take in Maddie in this heat!! I am sure Murphy was glad to have his territory back once Maddie went home.
Lots of M names… huh? If Maddie became a permanent dog, you would have felt left out!
That terrier was probably so happy to get a break from the heat until his owners came. And the owners must have been so relieved!
Maddie is such a sweetie! Glad you guys brought her in…it was way too hot yesterday to be walking around town off-leash and without water. Phew!
I’ll bet Murphy felt a little on the jealous side, poor guy. Although he looks pretty content and happy to be the one dog again in that last pic…haha. π
you’re such good dog parents – I hope if my dog ever sneaks out, he’s found like nice people like you. π
What is better than sitting outside and drinking a light summer beer, I ask you? I plan on inserting a Full Circle into my hand tonight and walking down to the sun dock.
hahaha – Tina that stink eye pic is hilarious!! you really do have the dog with the biggest personality :).
I guess Murphy doesn’t like having another dog competing for your attention. He wants you all to himself! π
I’m glad you found the dog’s owner! My uncle found abandoned puppies a few weeks ago and my co-worker found another this week. It is SO sad that people just leave them on the side of the road! I keep telling my husband we should adopt one. So far, it’s not working. However – I will NOT give up! π
i’m sure her defenses were up – strange house, strange people, strange dog π If she were a permanent addition, i’m sure she would’ve settled right in perfectly!
Our girl growls at all of our fosters at first, but then after sniffing them out, her nubby tail is wagging like crazy!
Maybe lame, but true. First thing I thought of when I saw that picture of the rogue pup was “Who let the dog(s) out? Who, who who who?”
Shame on those baha men, still hanging in my brain.
Looks like a wondahful evening!
Ugh, it seems like everybody around here lets there dogs run loose and wild! And its hard, because I’m the one with the dog who will snap and bite… when we’re on walks, I have to constantly be on the lookout for stray dogs to avoid a fight!
It makes me so happy that you brought the puppy in! Us animal lovers have to take care of these little guys! Kudos to you, have another iced coffee hehe
I love the time you and Mal spend together. It’s so sweet!
Maddie’s owners must have been so happy to hear from you. Glad it worked out!
This is HILARIOUS!!! LOL! I love Murphy’s reaction to the dog. He’s so curious and stressed out all the time. It’s so funnY! aww.. i wonder why she snapped at him. As you can tell, it’s a chill friday at work…love your blog. π
Thanks guys for saving a fellow smash faced pooch! Our Molly, also a Boston, can be tricky as well. I don’t know what I would do without her.
That stink eye picture made me laugh so hard! Glad you guys were able to help that doggie get back home π
Summer is finally here! Something refreshing about chips n salsa on warm days, perfect snack. Murphy is so cute, how do you stand not to squeeze him to death? π
Glad you found Maddie’s home! Seems Murphy is too! Have a good weekend Tina.
Aww I’m so happy you got Maddie back to her people!
