I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.


An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

I didn’t realize you guys missed these workout recaps so much. I’ll be sure to keep them alive on CNC in the future. With that said, here’s a recap of last week’s workouts!

Sunday: CrossFit (Open Gym)

Kerrie and I made plans to meet at Open Gym on Sunday morning to get our sweat on. We started with some work on butterflies and then did a EMOM 8 of 3 strict pull-ups. Then, we combined two WODs from the previous week to make our own low-key Sunday workout. It took us about 15 minutes to complete.


Monday: 3-mile walk with Murphy


Tuesday: CrossFit

This was definitely one of those workouts that’s a lot more fun in person than it looks on paper. To be honest, I wasn’t really feeling it, and I almost didn’t go, but I put on my workout clothes, which is half the battle for me, and drove my butt to class.

I paired up with my friend Maryann, and I ended up having a really fun time. In 14 minutes, we ran almost seven 400 meters and completed 245 kettlebell swings between the two of us. It ended up being a great WOD!

Questions of the Day

How were your workouts last week? Any highlights?

What’s on the agenda for Thanksgiving week?

My goal for next week is 3 CrossFit workouts (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) since I’m taking Thursday and Friday off.



  1. We did the Filthy Fifty on Monday…and I shaved off about 3 minutes from my previous time – plus I was doing the RX for box jumps and KB swings compared to last time AND did the double unders – Woohoo! It was a happy WOD day! The other two days I went to CF this week were great as well, but the next memorable day was my OLY class yesterday; our class was KILLIN’ it!

      Here is what Coach Glassman says about the “girl” names:
      “I want to explain the workout once and then give it a name. I thought that anything that left you flat on your back, looking up at the sky asking ”˜what just happened to me?’ deserved a females name. Workouts are just like storms, they wreak havoc on towns.”

  2. I’m back to full running after NYCM. I ran 3 5 mile runs and 10 miles yesterday. I also started a plank a day, which is super hard. I can’t say how short I can hold it, but hopefully I will get better.

  3. I went back to CF after having bronchitis for a week. (and I was on vacation a week before that!) I’m STILL sore from Monday (150 sumo deadlifts and 150 pushups). Just going back was my highlight! I missed it!!!

  4. I don’t think certain people miss the workout recaps, just their absence lead to pregnancy speculation. haha Keep on, keeping on Tina.

  5. I think I’m going to go to our local fun run for Thanksgiving. There is a group that runs together in the summer – they quit around Sept and I never made it out there – so this is my second chance, ha! Hopefully I can meet some running buddies in town.

  6. I love the workout recap. It’s great to just follow and get motivated for new ideas. I ran four days with my longest run being 10 miles today, hot yoga on Saturday and one spinning class. I’m hoping I can get my four runs in next week including the 5k turkey trot on Thanksgiving. 🙂

  7. My workouts were SUPER running focused, with a few travel WODs thrown in there to squeeze in some strength training! I am LOVING body weight training right now.

    Highlights for my workouts last week were definitely the fact that I can now do a chin up unassisted for the first time ever. Its not pretty but happy to be able to now do 1.

  9. I’ve had a great week of workouts! I took Tuesday and Sunday off and I had my furthest run (4miles) this week since I ran my marathon in October. I plan on working out every day this week except Friday. Thursday, I’m doing a Turkey day run with my mom before we start preparing our thanksgiving day feast!

  10. Nice week of workouts! Sometimes the hardest part is getting there but then there’s that awesome feeling afterward which makes it all worth it. For me, I worked out each weekday morning last week with the highlight being a hard & fast treadmill run. This week I’m looking forward to a 5k turkey trot just as long as that wintry mix doesn’t stick around the DC area on T-day!

  11. Thanks for bringing back your workouts recap. I love it. I really enjoy seeing what you eat for breakfast, and then you sweating it out with a kick ass WOD or EMOM or AMRAP. This weeks workouts have been good. I’ve been starting my mornings off with fasted cardio – just walking on the treadmill on an incline and then hitting the gym in the late afternoon. I am still sore from Tuesdays 6 rounds of deadlifts + 5 pull-ups, finished off with a partner bicep curl marathon. LOL!
