Here’s my last post about Las Vegas! I figured I should show you what we did besides stuff our faces,Β sit by the pool, and booze.
On our first day in Vegas, Mal and I woke up bright and early, ate a disgusting breakfast, and then grabbed iced coffees at Starbucks, which we took on our walk down the strip. We started at The Wynn and ended at Mandalay Bay, so, round trip, we walkedΒ close toΒ 6 miles!
On our travels, we snapped photos.
Boogied down.
Met Batman. (I paid him $1 to spread his wings andΒ make that face.)
RodeΒ the rollercoaster at New York New York.
I thought the rollercoaster would be aΒ complete waste of money, especially for $14 per person, but Mal really wanted toΒ do it. Surprisingly, it ended up being aΒ lot of fun! Mal and I screamed like little girls and laughed hysterically the entire time.Β The rollercoaster isΒ totally worth the money!
Random side note: If you need a Bank of America ATM while you are in Vegas, there’s one on the 4th floor of the M&M store. Mal and I spentΒ for-ever searching for this baby!
Eventually, our travels took us to Mandalay Bay, where weβΒ¦
Visited the Shark Reef Aquarium!
Here you will come face-to-face with some of the earth’s most fascinating creatures in North America’s only predator-based aquarium and exhibit. See sharks of all kinds, along with sawfish, giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, moon jellies and the rare golden crocodiles. In all, there are over 2,000 animals in 1.6 million gallons of seawater.
Yikes! Piranhas are scary!
Love at first sight.
Dun dunβΒ¦
…dun dun…
βΒ¦dun dun!!
I love sharks!
Mal and I also saw Mystere, one of the Cirque du Soleil shows. It was amazing, and easily one of the best parts of our trip. It highly recommend seeing a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas. Tickets are expensive, but it’sΒ totally worth the splurge. The show was so entertaining– probably one of the best shows in Las Vegas.

Looks like so much fun – I wish I had known about the Shark Reef Aquarium when I went to Las Vegas a few years ago! We took a little road trip and went and saw the Hoover Dam while we there – I thought that was really cool!
Haha on first glance I thought Mal was dressed up as Batman!
It’s like Disneyland — but for big kids! π
Aww, poor Batman looks like he’s struggling to fill out that suit lol… I’ve only been to see Cirque du Soleil once but I was too young to remember it. I’m hoping to check out their MJ tribute show in September though (not in Vegas though, unfortunately)!
Still haven’t seen a Cirque show IN Vegas…the Bf has seen them all and loves them.
I want to go back to Vegas so badly!!!
That “love at first sight” picture of Mal is priceless!!!
Mystere is my favorite Cirque show, and I’ve seen almost all of them! Good choice!! π
If you ever need a B of A ATM in Charlotte, you can roll out of bed and walk right up to one. Literally, there is one on every corner and sometimes between corners. Looks like you had a great time!
Looks like you had a lotta fun π I hope I’ll get to go to Vegas some day!
What do you do with Murphy when you go on vacation? Do you send him to a kennel or leave him with friends?
@Ally: He stays with our friend, Steph, my sister, or my mom.
Sounds like a lot of fun! I love the pictures of you two in the aquarium. I like sharks, too! π
I loved the shark stuff at Mandaley Bay. It was really cool!
I love the picture with Batman! π That’s too funny!
oooh what fun!!! We are visiting VEgas later this year!!
If a rollercoaster is $14 a person, it better blow my socks off! Looks like you guys had an amazing time! I saw a Cirque Du Soleil show in Orlando and it was definitely worth the money. I can’t imagine how the one in Vegas was!
How fun! I’ve never gone to the Mandalay Bay Shark tank, but it looks so cool! I love seeing jellyfish… and sharks π
SO much fun!!! I definitely need to check out Vegas myself!
I love this! My husband and I went to Vegas for our honeymoon and stayed at Mandalay Bay. I loved that aquarium! π Brings back great memories.
My husband and I are thinking of going out there for our anniversary and I really want to go again after seeing your posts!! Seeing a Cirque show is at the top of my list!
How fun. Good to know the roller coaster is a must do.
Yay what a fun time! I don’t know if I would enjoy a Cirque show. It’s not typically my thang.
So much fun!! Vegas truly is a city where you can do just about everything. It’s not all gambling and that stuff.
Looks like fun. I definitely want to walk the strip when I go to Vegas in a few weeks!
I was wondering random question~ on the mornings you work out early before breakfast do you eat anything that early in the morning? I am having a hard time trying to figure out what works.

How exciting! My parents are already booking their next Vegas trip π
Love that coaster! Even though I half thought it was going to break as we were riding it.
Love the picture of Mal and the lizard!
Sounds wonderful!!! This makes me want to go back to Vegas. We saw Ka, and it wasn’t that great but I would love to see another Cirque show again. The Mystere one sounds amazing though!
I love Cirque shows!
I have seen about 10…some in Vegas, Orlando, and their traveling shows that have come to San Diego. I love all of them but Mystere is my #1, and O is my #2 fave!!
Jelly fish are so fascinating! While octopus freak me out!
I agree with seeing the Cirque shows… I’ve seen Love and Zumanity and they were both amazing!
Sounds like a great trip! We went to Vegas last November but the shark exhibit was closed. Saw cirque du soleil, though! It was spectacular.
You guys did a lot of FUN stuff while you were gone! I have always wanted to see a Vegas show – maybe next time I’m there!
Wow, great picts of Vegas – the shark aquarium looks like fun π
so great to see las vegas trips that include non gambling activities! π
so glad you had such a fun time! π
I felt the same way about the roller coaster at NY NY. I thought it would be lame but it was SO FUN!!
I am so deathly afraid of sharks. JAWS at too young of an age
Sounds like you had so much fun! I have always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show when I’ve been in Vegas, but we never seem to make it!
That dollar was totally worth it. haha I can’t contain myself around characters, I have to touch them slash hug all over them. Is that weird?
I’ve never been to Las Vegas but I realy want to go! My boyfriend is stationed in Cali and really close to the strip, so I think I need to plan a trip there! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
Maybe HLS 2011 should be there π
I totally agree with you about the Cirque Du Soleil show! We went to one when we were in Vegas last year and it was amazing; totally worth the hefty price tag!
OKay COOL! I so want to see a Cirque du Soleil show! Looks like you all had a lot of fun in Vegas! π
Batman is cheap!!
I went on that roller coaster one time when I was there for spring break….after four drinks. Thank God I didn’t yack but when homeboy slice who I met the night before told me we were going on it, I was not amused. It actually turned out to be a good time. I ended up staying at NY NY another time and the one annoying thing about the pool area was that damn roller coaster.
I went to see Cirque de Soleil’s TOTEM when I was in Montreal last summer. I thought it was an amazing show. I was completely in awe of the abilities of all the performers. It’s definitely worth the money.
Looks like a fun time in Vegas! You two are adorable π
I had been planning a trip to Vegas without my son. However, now I can take him to the shark exhibit. I truly have mixed feelings about this realization. I’m glad you had fun!
Looks like you had such a fabulous time. I have yet to go to Vegas!
You guys definitely made out on your trip! We thought about doing the reef but it ended up being a bit out of our budget. And for a show, we saw the “V-Variety Show” at Planet Hollywood. It was fun! I think we spent most of our money on food. π And roulette…
Oh, I’m so envious of Mystere! I’ve only seen one Cirque show and it wasn’t that great π Sadly, I only discovered afterwards that it (Wintuk) was known for being one of the less-good shows!
