I’m so excited to share this recipe with you guys because it’s for sure a keeper! It’s super easy to make (just one pan) and only requires two main ingredients and some spices that you likely already have in your kitchen.
The best part about this dish though is that it’s a much healthier version of the packaged Ramen Noodles that so many of us simultaneously love and hate. This recipe is made with nutritious broccoli slaw (broccoli, carrots, and red cabbage), protein-packed shrimp, and a blend of spices, which is reminiscent of the chicken flavor (minus the MSG, of course) in our “beloved” Ramen Noodles. I’m telling ya, this recipe is awesome and, if you like Ramen, you are guaranteed to love it!
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces broccoli slaw (broccoli, carrots & red cabbage)
- 8 ounces large cooked frozen shrimp
- 2 cubes chicken bouillon cubes, crushed
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- pinch of salt
Directions:
- Coat a large saute pan with non-stick cooking spray. Heat shrimp until no longer frozen. Drain excess water from pan.
- Add broccoli slaw to pan along with shrimp and season with chicken bouillon, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook broccoli slaw for 3-4 minutes until al dente, but not mushy.
- Remove broccoli slaw and shrimp from heat. Divide into two bowls and serve immediately.

This sounds delicious! Where did you get the broccoli slaw?
Stop & Shop, but most grocery stores carry it! 🙂
Love the swap for broccoli slaw. I use that in everything, it’s super versatile! This sounds like the perfect quick dinner.
no need to thaw the shrimp first? this would be super fast! a last minute meal
I just sautéed it until it wasn’t frozen anymore! 🙂
Sounds delicious! Just a note: You have to be sure and read the ingredients on the chicken bouillon cubes. Many of those have MSG/gluten in them.
Good tip! 🙂
Winner! And I have been SO into shrimp lately! Can’t wait to try this.
This looks so good and so SIMPLE which is exactly what I need! Pinning!!
Where did you find bouillon cubes without MSG?
Whole Foods! Amazon sells it too! 🙂
This looks amazing…. I will be adding this to a meal prep line up!!
This looks delicious minus the shrimp! I’ll try and substitute the shrimp with another meat…hubby is allergic and Im not a fan of seafood.
I think it would be really good with chicken! 🙂
This looks and sounds delicious!! I have such a love/hate relationship with packaged ramen noodles (love that it tastes amazing and takes two minutes to make, hate that it’s filled with crap), so I’ll definitely have to give this a go one day!
Chicken bullion is essentially MSG. Many people don’t realize that the ingredient “yeast extract” is essentially the same thing as monosodium glutamate, just legally a little less potent. So you might as well just use the ramen noodle season packet, ha!
@Sarah: Yeah, but… there’s no Ramen IN it, LOL
I have all these ingredients on hand and looking for a meal to make tomorrow afternoon, perfect!!! Can’t wait to try this and use up the shrimp in my freezer
I’m making this for dinner tonight! Can’t wait!
I just bought all the ingredients to make this – I love how it is so simple with practical ingredients that everyone has in their kitchen yet so creative, even I can make it. I love your recipes!
