Sundays are my go-to tool for keeping me on track with healthy eating and exercise. While I love using exercise mantras and self-talk to motivate me, taking some time on Sunday to organize my life is the best and most effective way to keep me on track.
Here’s my little checklist for Sunday:
- Meal plan and grocery shop
- Food prep, which typically includes making iced coffee and Dandy Blend, washing produce, chopping veggies for weeknight meals, cooking Sweet Potato Wedges, etc.
- Schedule my workouts for the week (Why Scheduling is a Key to Fitness Motivation) and register for CrossFit classes
- Clean house, do laundry, change bedding, etc.
My Sunday checklist keeps me accountable and motivates me stick to my healthy habits. When all of these things are ready and set to go, it’s tough for me to make excuses for why I can’t eat well or fit in a workout during the week. Basically, crossing these items off my list on Sunday helps me “get after it” all week long.
