After the “official” conclusion of the Healthy Living Summit, we enjoyed a two-hour hiatus to rest (and blog) before reconvening for a walk to the North End for the Fisherman’s Feast.
A group of about 40 women gathered outside of the hotel– we were quite the scene!
As you can image, with such a large group, it was a little tricky trekking through busy Boston with the intersections, stoplights, and crowded streets.
But, eventually, we arrived at the North End!
The crowds at the festival were crazy. The streets were packed! Luckily, Jenna and I stumbled upon a wine tasting promotion hosted by Barefoot Wine.
The promo was a bit off the beaten path of the festival, which gave our group much more room to spread out.
At the event, I munched on lots of cheese!
And a few sips of wine. I liked the Barefoot Pinot Noir, but I really loved their Zinfandel! Nice and smooth!
Of course, I needed to take advantage of a wine bottle prop for a few photos.
I know that I’m a total dork! 😉
I think our group really enjoyed the wine tasting!
Kath and I sported our Summit spirit!
We had such a great group last night. I did a lot of chatting!
After some wine and cheese, Kath made an excellent suggestion for dessert: Mike’s Pastry!
As expected, Mike’s was crowded, but the line moved fairly quickly.
It was hot and muggy last night, so I pick gelato (instead of a pastry) for dessert.
I went with the Nocciola flavor (aka Hazelnut).
It was perfect– exactly what I wanted on a hot summer night! Delish!
After dessert, we walked back through the streets of Boston to our hotel. It wasn’t that late, but I was exhausted and headed straight to bed.
Thanks to everyone who came out for our North End adventure!
